Mrs. Squirrel's Picture
Mrs. Squirrel, Tampa, FL Age and Occupation: 25, Genetic Counselor Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Graphic Designer/ Engineering Student Engagement Date: March 17, 2012 Wedding Date: May 2013 Venue: Davis Island Garden Club About Me: I am a DIY loving, science dork. I like to eat green peppers every day and I wish all clothes would be made with bows and lace. I moved to the South for grad school and stumbled across Mr. Squirrel, aka Southern Gent extraordinaire. We moved to Tampa, Florida and are starting a new life together. We are so excited to get married! Our ceremony will be in a Catholic church and the guests will then take a boat ride to the outdoor reception. We are channeling a Midsummer Night's Dream and plan to have lots of twinkling lights, moss, and whimsy in the air.
About Mrs. Squirrel

The clock is ticking fast in Squirrel World. I feel like our engagement flew by and the big day is right around the corner. As excited as I am for the wedding, I honestly can’t WAIT just to be married. The wedding details are pretty locked in (don’t get me wrong, I still have plenty of crafting left to do), but these days I like to sit back and think of how excited I am to be married. I loved Mrs. Gray Wolf’s list a few months ago and wanted to share my reasons:

Why I Can't Wait to Be Married : wedding tampa Squirrel1 squirrel1

  1. I can’t wait to change my last name. I feel like it makes us true partners in crime. Mr. & Mrs. ____. I practice writing it far too often, but it will still be so strange to hear people say it out loud.
  2. Decorating my apartment instead of a reception hall. Projects for the home have much better staying power.
  3. I miss carbs. The new KitchenAid mixer and bread maker taunt me on a daily basis.
  4. Waking up Christmas morning. Together. (Finally!)
  5. Having a better chance of getting Mr. S to rock “going-together” outfits. I mean, he’s kind of stuck with me—why not flaunt it? (Who else loves when that accidentally happens?)
  6. All the research says we will live longer and be richer and happier thanks to this little party we are throwing in May. Bring it on.
  7. Mr. S can do the laundry and I can do the dishes. He is a folding master, and I loathe hanging things up.
  8. I love my wedding band, and I swoon when I see Mr. S wearing his. I keep asking him to “try it out”…and he says no 98% of the time. The other 2% leaves me with lots of giggles.
  9. Selling off all my wedding projects! Cha-ching.
  10. Knowing my mom will awkwardly push the two twin beds together in her guest room next time we visit.
  11. Not having to bank all my time off work to use for my honeymoon. I miss Travelzoo’s weekly top 20.
  12. Puppy? Babies? All in good time…

Oh my gosh I love that picture. The looks on your faces are so awesome! Show so much personality! I sound like a weirdo, but it reminds me of faces me and my FI make at each other, so it is sweet to see!

Simple things like division of chores is something I never even thought of until I read your post. I can’t wait to get married! (You’d think so cause I am a single college girl reading wedding blogs…)

Great list! I’m also excited about our wedding bands — I can’t wait to see a ring on Mr. Plane’s finger!

Awww I love that photo of you two!!!

Even after being married for a few months, we still can’t get over our wedding bands. Every time I look at Mr. W’s I think “Ohhh weird we’re married!” It takes some getting used to haha.

I love that picture! So sweet. I also can’t wait to be married, for many of the same reasons. The name and the ring are probably my biggest. I can’t wait to wear my ring, and the other night I looked at his ring finger and wished there was something on it! It’s going to be hard once we have the rings at home to not just go get married the next day!

Cutest. Picture. EVER. (And I hear you on the carbs. I would trample my own mother right now for a bite of whatever you seem to be holding in that picture…just sayin’…)

Love this list! I can’t wait for the wedding (and I’m still a year off, just two months into our engagement) because I already miss having discretionary income that isn’t going to our wedding! And though I haven’t started the pre-wedding diet yet, that is coming up sooner than I’d like! Love the pic of you two! Lovely!
