Mr. Bracelet and I had discussed exchanging wedding gifts in the months leading up to the wedding. I thought that I was a nice and meaningful tradition. And since Mr. B is a cool guy, he was on board with the idea.

The larger of the two presents was a nod to my love of stationery: personalized stationery for Mr. Bracelet. Although I know that he will only seldom use it, he will have “male” stationery on hand whenever he needs to write a formal note.
But my main gift to him was the little blue book that was nesting on top of the box MOH R delivered. I’m not very verbal about my love, but it’s definitely one of his love languages. So, well over a year before the wedding (when we were long distance and talked on Skype every day), I started writing down all the reasons why I loved Mr. Bracelet. Some were big, others small—many silly and funny everyday things.
An emotional moment for him
…and I plan to continue adding new reasons to my list after the wedding.
I hinted to Mr. Bracelet early on that pearls were considered a classic wedding gift. I might have mentioned it a few times. I’m not saying that he couldn’t have come up with a (different) gift on his own, but suggestions are always appreciated.

You might think that I look a bit nervous in that photo. I wasn’t. I was adapting to change. You see, I like to plan things ahead of time and I like to stick to the plan. I had determined my wedding day outfit: pearl drop earrings, pearl drop necklace, pearl bracelet. I had my bridal photos taken with those accessories. But now…I needed to make a decision. And I decided that, as it was THE wedding day gift and meant a lot to Mr. Bracelet, I would change my necklace. I just need some time to adapt. *
* Mr. Bracelet knows me so well that he briefly worried about giving me the gift in the morning and thereby obliging me to make a decision.
Will you/ did you exchange wedding day gifts?
