Anniversary Trip #1: 20hrs @ Magic Kingdom

We had planned on spending our second day in Orlando visiting Magic Kingdom and exploring the new Fantasyland, which neither of us had seen. A couple of weeks before our trip, we learned that Disney was hosting the Monstrous Summer All Nighter, which meant Magic Kingdom would be open for 24 hours the day we had planned on visiting. Talk about great news!

We arrived at the park a little after 7:30am to begin our fun filled day at the Happiest Place on Earth!

We headed straight to the enchanted forest part of the new Fantasyland. We had breakfast at Gaston’s Tavern, where we had a chance to taste the scrumptious Le Fou Brew and a special edition Sully cupcake before checking out the new attractions in the area.

At 10:30am we got in line for lunch at Be Our Guest Restaurant, which features three incredible dining rooms in the middle of the Beast’s Castle. The one and a half hour wait was definitely worth it! Although the food wasn’t that good, the setting was spectacular. It felt as if I had just stepped into the middle of my favorite Disney movie, Beauty and The Beast.

The Beast’s Bedroom…you could see the petals falling off the rose!

The highlight of our trip to Magic Kingdom was definitely our morning at New Fantasyland, where Disney really outdid themselves, bringing their stories to life in great new ways. After lunch at Be Our Guest, we made our way counterclockwise around the park, seeing every show and riding every ride. The wait times were not too bad, most were between 30-60 minutes all throughout the day.

We stopped at 9:00pm to see Wishes (BEST Fireworks show EVER!), ran off to Tomorrowland for a screening of Monsters Inc. from 11:00pm to 1:00am and then back to Main Square for the 1:00am Electrical Parade and a cool dance party at Cinderella’s castle. We ended our day at three in the morning after spending 20 hours at Magic Kingdom, exhausted but super excited to have had the chance to be a part of this fun event.

Ahhhhh I’ve heard about the Le Fou Brew – I definitely must try it. Although an hour and a half wait for Be Our Guest? I think I’ll stay away unfortunately :(

We don’t have enough time to go to Be Our Guest for dinner, but I’m quite excited about being able to go the next time we’re at Disney when it’s not as new and (hopefully) less packed! :)

Your 20 hour day looks awesome.

@TriciaG: It isn’t mean! Every one deserve to be a child for a day and for that, the real children should be far away. Disney make for a fun adult trip.

@Miss Jackrabbit: Be Our Guest was awesome and since we had 24 hours to explore the park we weren’t in any rush. You might try passing by around 2pm, since the line was much shorter then.

I am so freaking jealous, seriously. Fantasyland wasn’t yet open when I was there and The Little Mermaid is my all time, no question favorite. Do you have any fun details about visiting my BFFs Ariel and Eric, so I can live through you? Lol.

AND THE SUMMER ALL NIGHTER, OMG. NO FAIR. Seriously, you win.

Happy Belated Anniversary!! How cool to be at MK when they were open for 24 hours. I would love to do that. I’ve heard mixed reviews about the food at BOG but I so want to check out the restaurant when we go in September! We couldn’t get ADRs for dinner so plan to try for lunch. Isn’t New Fantasyland awesome? We got to see it 6 days after it opened, loved it!!
