Wolves’ Winter Wedding: We Get Snow!

The minutes right after the ceremony were some of the best. Wolfman and I had a split second of alone time—I just kept saying “We did it!” and I think we high fived a few times. We could hear our recessional song and I just felt so great—and so cool. Soon our family and party joined us—it was such a happy (and relived) moment.

Hugging my MOH. I also love Wolfman’s face here”¦like “Holy crap, I guess I did that!”

After we watched our officiant officially sign us together, our photographer gave me the best news ever: it was snowing. Apparently it had started to flurry right in the middle of the ceremony—nothing hard or anything, but it was definitely starting to stick to the ground. We grabbed an umbrella that happened to be by the door—I have no idea why, as it wasn’t raining all day—and took some quick photos outside.

It was so cold, but I was somehow sweating at the same time. My body was trying to negotiate exactly what was going on and the flurry of excitement (double meaning intended! Zing!) that had just occurred. Definitely a weird feeling!

Had to get at least one with everyone and our furs.

We rushed inside and our photographers stayed in the cold and took some photos from there—this shows nicely how bright the twinkle lights were as the ceremony progressed. It was a pretty simple backdrop—nothing as ambitious as I had originally been picturing—but I think it fit the season well and showed off the fact that we got married right at sunset. By the end of the ceremony, it was completely dark outside.

You’ll also see here that I got rid of my sleeves. They were so delicate and light that I could just tuck them into the sides of my dress. It was definitely very freeing!

These shots took like 10 minutes—nothing like below freezing temperatures to hurry things up—and after that, we had no more photos to take. I was so glad we had done family stuff before the ceremony because it meant we got to enjoy most of our cocktail hour—which is coming up next!

Anyone else have a weather surprise—good or bad? Any photo-ops you didn’t anticipate?

I’m still in awe of your dress. Someone SO randomly asked about it in another thread and I was like SHE GOT IT MADE ON ETSY, ISN’T IT INCREDIBLE?!!!
