I have really awesome friends! They took time out of their busy schedules to go bridesmaids’ dress shopping with me and dealt with the last-minute changes!
After our small fiasco at David’s Bridal, four of the Scooter Biker Gang and I were all set to go to A Step Above Bridal and search for the perfect bridesmaids’ dress. Since I had a vague idea of what I was looking for, it was easy for us to narrow down our search. Within minutes of getting there, we had already picked a designer; now it was time to choose what three styles I would provide for the lovely ladies to wear. I sent my ladies an email prior to this search and gave them the heads up of what styles I had in mind.
MOH Brandy actually brought her cute little pumpkin pie along for the journey! Sweet Baby Keegan is his name, and he has nothing to do with the story of picking a bridesmaids’ dress; he is just so stinking cute.

It was my turn with the the little guy! As you can see he was the star!

What makes my group of girlfriends awesome is that they are not perfect. Some have big butts, others have big boobs, some (points to myself) have issues with their mid-sections. I would hate for me to love my dress and feel ahhhh-MAZING, but look around and see that my close friends are not enjoying themselves because they are self-conscious about what they are wearing. That is why I took special precautions to find something they would be comfortable wearing all night. What they do after Saturday night is all up to them, but for that one day, I want them to feel pretty and special. Luckily they were all OK with the styles I had researched. Even luckier, A Step Above Bridal had a vast enough selection for us to find something to flatter everyone.
Just as a reminder, here are the three styles that I had in mind for them to wear.

Now that we selected the styles, it was time to try on the dresses. Let me preface the next few pictures with this warning:
**No one in my crew is a model size. They didn’t have larger sizes in the styles we wanted, so if you see BM JuJu in the background helping BM Jas close the dress, please don’t be alarmed!**

After we tried on dresses, we were sitting around trying to figure out what to feed our starving souls. Antonio (the owner) suggested a local winery in the area called Hopwood Cellars. We walked over to the quaint winery and were “golden.” There were enough seats for everyone to sit together, and at the end of the long row was a place for Baby Keegan to sit. He would be out of the way and no one would be able to bother him. On this particular Saturday, they offered a free Crock-Pot meal. Some of us were hesitant to be the first one to get some, but then BM Brandy took the brave step and got some. Before you knew it, we were asking for recipes and getting seconds! It was soooo good! I am hell bent on not being a bridezilla and I try to show my appreciation in various ways! This time, after a day of dress shopping, I treated my gal pals to a round of drinks and a bottle of their desired wine.

As you can tell, the wine was a big hit with everyone! Did you have a bad bridesmaids’ dress experience? Did it turn around for the better? Was wine/alcohol involved…it usually is for me. Please don’t judge me!
