I Whale Always Love You: I Cry At The Courthouse

After chowing down on our free continental breakfast at the Quality Inn (I make a mean Belgian waffle), we loaded all of our stuff back into my tiny car and hit the road for our final destination: Blairsville, Georgia.

Our first stop in Blairsville was the courthouse. The blue whales still needed a marriage license! I love the courthouse. You just never know what kinds of people you’re going to run into. In fact, you just might run into a teary-eyed blubbering fool who is crying while filling out a marriage license application. That would be me. I really don’t cry very often, but we all know that wedding bring out the sap in all of us.

Luckily, I pulled it together, and we managed the rest of the day without incident. Well, as long as you don’t count getting lost and driving up and down the same road four times to find our cabin an incident. We did finally make it to the “cabin” (more like a luxury rustic home), and we settled in for the weekend.

Mr. Whale and I were blown away by how nice the house was. We were in the lap of luxury for sure.

By evening, our friends and family were rolling into town. A lot of the people either hadn’t hung out in a long time or hadn’t ever met. So naturally, a lot of fun was had.

Cards Against Humanity came out (of course). And while I climbed into bed around 2:00am, a few stayed up until sunrise!

Did I forget to mention that our house had a private dock on the lake?? Incredible. I think it’s safe to say that our wedding weekend was off to a fabulous start.

Things only got better the next day, as we set up the reception venue, and my vision started coming to life! We gathered at the venue around 10:30am and got to work unloading the ridiculous amount of stuff that my parents had brought in their truck.

My mom texted me this picture on Friday afternoon as they were packing”¦The text read, “This isn’t even all of it!!”

I won’t bore you with the details. (Wait, I already have? Sorry.) We got a ton of stuff done, and at 2:45, we headed out to get ready for the rehearsal!

If you missed any part of this whale of a tale, get caught up here. Previously”¦

That place looks awesome! I’m getting married in Blairsville in May and was wondering if you could give any details on the cabin. I would love for my folks to stay in place like that! Thanks.
