(The title works better if you say it out loud really fast.)
I need to come clean. Before I met Mr. Orchard, there was another great love in my life. It was a love that knew no boundaries. A love that knew no restrictions. It was a love for the ages, a love that will never be forgotten and will probably always remain in my heart for all time. It is a love that calms me and soothes my soul.
Guys, I love shoes.
And when the going gets tough, I usually get going right to the nearest shopping center to find myself a new pair of shoes to make it all OK. At least I did until I started saving for the wedding…and dating the most frugal man in the known universe. Still, my mantra will always be:

I wanted to wait until I found my dress to search for shoes, but you better believe that when it was FINALLY time to start looking at wedding shoes (I told myself I’d be a good girl and not buy any shoes until after the wedding with the one exception of wedding shoes that I could really splurge on!), I was MORE than ready to hunt down the perfect pair.
I love the tradition of brides wearing blue shoes as their “something blue” on their wedding day. And I definitely lusted after a few—especially these little beauties.

I’d been drooling over Hey Lady’s pretty pumps for so long, but when the time came, I just couldn’t get myself to cough up over $300 for shoes. I picked the wrong career for that business.
BHLDN had soooo many pretty shoes that I quickly moved away from my something blue ideas and realized I could rock some serious gold glitter if I wanted to. Several pairs caught my eye, my favorites of which were:

Some of these were on sale and oh so tempting, but Mr. Orchard stands at about 5’11″ and I’m 5’7″. If I wear four-inch heels I’m going to be as tall as him, which would not necessarily matter, but I would feel more comfortable in a smaller heel for all-day wear. So I searched on.
For a while I was SUPER in love with these little cuties:

I ordered them from Zappos and was a huge fan, but something just was missing and I was nervous about ending up with the sweatiest feet ever, so I sent them back.
I finally turned to Ruche, which is one of my favorite online shops, and I spotted these shoes and I knew they were the ones!
Yes, they’re simple, but the color is perfect, wedges are comfortable for all day and night, and the height is perfect. I won’t need to hem my dress (yay!!!), and they were an awesome price. Yes, they are sadly lacking in the glitter department, but worry not—I am planning on taking care of that this week! Stay tuned!
