Mr. Orchard and I spent a lot of time debating our honeymoon. Because we are getting married in November we knew that our options (and budget!) would be limited.
While I LOVE the idea of lying around on a beautiful beach, I know Mr. O well enough to know that he would go crazy doing that for a week, so that pretty quickly knocked out any of the islands and Mexico.
We couldn’t do Europe in a week the way we’d like to, so we decided to skip that as well.
Hawaii was a consideration but just wasn’t in our budget this year.
Staying somewhere inside the US was our best shot, but the weather in November is so variable. I wanted to choose somewhere that would be fun no matter what the weather. Somewhere beautiful and different, exciting and ever changing. There was really only one option.
New York City.
Mr. Orchard has never been to NYC. I’ve been three times. However, even though I’ve been there before, the one thing I have never had is TIME. Usually I’m there for quick weekends and rushed trips, which are always fun but hectic. Mr. O and I, thanks to my friend Katie who is a travel agent, will have an entire week in NYC in a great hotel. We have plans to visit the obvious attractions and to take in a show (but we haven’t picked one yet!), but best of all—we have plenty of time to explore the city together.
So fellow NYC lovers, we are wide open to suggestions! Where should the Orchards go? What should we see and do? Any great Broadway shows that we just can’t miss? Where should we eat?
