Howdy, friends! It’s been a while…you may or may not remember me. Allow me to remind you—I’m Mrs. Cardigan, and I had a bright and happy yellow and gray wedding in Austin, Texas way back in January of 2011. I’m super excited to be back today to share what we’re up to now!
You can catch up with my recaps starting right here.
Here’s what we looked like back then:

And here’s what we look like now (except this was taken a couple of months ago and I now have a baby bump!):

The best thing that’s happened to us as a couple since we got married is:
We’re having a baby! After almost two and a half years of being married we decided it was high time to start a family, and now we’re expecting a sweet baby boy in January—just a few weeks after our three-year wedding anniversary!
How blogging about my wedding shaped my wedding day:
I think blogging about our wedding made me a lot more conscious of how it would turn out in photos and not just on the day of. I wanted our photos to be beautiful for sharing with the world, so I thought about a lot of things I may not have thought of if I wasn’t sharing my wedding photos with Weddingbee (how the centerpieces would “pop,” what details might not look good in photos, etc.). In the end, that turned out to be a fantastic thing because I adore looking back on our photos and I think they turned out beautifully!
Why I chose my icon and how my icon has become a part of my identity:
I chose the Cardigan icon because I’ve always been a little cardigan obsessed. I own an absurd amount of them and wear them almost daily when it’s cool enough outside (and sometimes even when it’s not)! Maybe it’s the teacher in me? I don’t know. I still am a huge cardigan fan, and I’ve even got Mr. Cardigan to start wearing them every once in a while!
My favorite post I ever published on Weddingbee:
I can’t decide between my “Whose Wedding Is It Anyways?” series and my invitation reveal post. The first one because it was the first time Mr. Cardigan and I really stood together as a couple on an issue that meant a lot to us—we had quite a few people upset with us because of our decisions, but we stood our ground because it was important and we have never for one second regretted it. And the second one because to this day I am still obsessed with how amazing our wedding invitations were!
Do you still blog/have you found another creative outlet for writing?
I do! I’m currently blogging about our home renovations (and being pregnant!) over on the same blog I’ve had since right after we got married, Love & Renovations.
