Hello, hive! I’m Miss Filly, I’m the newest addition to the Weddingbee team, and it’s a privilege to bee (nope, not a typo!) here. When I got my acceptance email from Mrs. Mouse, I was 98% sure she was kidding, but after plenty of back-and-forth correspondence, an introduction, and now my first post—I guess she wasn’t joking after all!
I am 25 years old, living in Boston by way of Philadelphia by way of New Jersey. I’m a sorority girl, I’m an avid reader of all genres, I love to cook, and I have terrible taste in music. I work as an auditor. And in a few short months, I have the privilege of marrying the love of my life.
My fiancé is an engineering Ph.D. candidate and, needless to say, the smartest person I know. I was fortunate enough to bag him early—we’re high school sweethearts! We attended neighboring high schools and met through mutual friends the summer before our senior year. By the time school started, we were inseparable and have been ever since. Through college, studying abroad, medical mishaps, launching our careers, and everything in between, we have seen each other through thick and thin, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.
One of our engagement shots. It takes one heck of a professional to make the two least photogenic folks in the world look this good.

We got engaged last August, and the wedding will be held next April in Cape May, New Jersey. While I was not raised in Cape May, I have spent countless childhood vacations there. It’s my favorite place in the world, and I was thrilled to share it with my fiancé when we started dating. I can’t think of a better place to start our lives together.
So, you may ask, why Miss Filly? Multiple reasons: first, the avatar reminded me of My Little Pony; second, I immediately thought of a zillion cheesy horse puns; third, because Filly = Philly = Villanova University, our alma mater; and last but not least, I can refer to my fiancé as Colt. Or Stallion. I’m still undecided—suggestions?
I’m really looking forward to getting you know you all. Maybe I’ll even learn a thing or two along the way!
