I couldn’t imagine a more surreal feeling if I tried. Lying in a hotel bed the night before my wedding, I always thought I would feel anxious or nervous, but more than anything else I am just excited. And happy.
I’ve thought for a while now about what I would post on my last night as a “single” woman—it’s a right of passage here on the ‘Bee, you know. Surprisingly, and uncharacteristically, I came up with very few words. So I will just make it short and sweet.
To my friends and family, thank you for all of the love and support you have shown me and my future husband, not only over the last 18 months, but for our entire relationship. There is no doubt in my mind that each of us are marrying into fantastic families, and I don’t think either of us could have imagined a better situation.
To my parents (because I really want them to know this today): your marriage has been an inspiration to us as a couple since the moment we began this relationship. We can only hope to be as in love as you two are in 30 years.
And finally, to my groom. This has been a long journey, and the day is finally here that I get to call you my husband. It’s incredible to think how far we’ve come. There is no doubt in my mind that you are the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. I hope that we are both able to take a moment tomorrow to just enjoy this day that we have worked so hard for. But most importantly, I hope that each tomorrow is filled with more love than the day before.
To the hive, I can’t wait to share all of the incredible details with you. Until then, for the last time as a Miss…
