The NewlyJets: The Pre-Wedding Snack

New Bedford has a long-standing history as the Whaling City, but it’s also widely known for its Portuguese immigrant population—including Mr. Jet’s parents! That being said, there is no lack of Portuguese restaurants and cafes around the city. A new one popped up a few weeks before our wedding, Tia Maria’s European Cafe, and they spotted us racing around town for our portraits and asked us to pose with them for a photo!

Notice the giddy look on my face?! It’s because they brought us a set of pastries called Pastels de Nata. They’re these amazing custard-filled pastries that I cannot get enough of.

We practiced our cake serving technique…

…then headed back to the trolley bound for our next, and final, stop!

    @Mrs. Bicycle: We did go back just a few weeks ago, but neither of the employees we remembered from the wedding day were there – we were just regular patrons that day! 😉

    @Miss Pyramid: In NOLA? I bet you’ll get more than free dessert! 😉

    @Footballwife: Congrats!!! <3

    OMG I love pasteles de nata. I don’t think I got any free stuff on my wedding day, or I would have looked as excited as you :) FREE FOOD? I’m totally down for that 😉
