New Bedford has a long-standing history as the Whaling City, but it’s also widely known for its Portuguese immigrant population—including Mr. Jet’s parents! That being said, there is no lack of Portuguese restaurants and cafes around the city. A new one popped up a few weeks before our wedding, Tia Maria’s European Cafe, and they spotted us racing around town for our portraits and asked us to pose with them for a photo!
Notice the giddy look on my face?! It’s because they brought us a set of pastries called Pastels de Nata. They’re these amazing custard-filled pastries that I cannot get enough of.
We practiced our cake serving technique…
…then headed back to the trolley bound for our next, and final, stop!
