There’s not really anything you can ever give your parents that can express truly how appreciative and thankful you are for everything they have done for you throughout your life. Also for everything they have helped out with for the wedding.
Now, just like all my other gift giving ideas, I always start off with one idea, and then my brain totally switches to something completely different as the end result. My first gift idea was to just give a picture frame with the promise to give them one of our wedding photos in it, but that just didn’t excite me. I knew after the wedding I would redeem one of those Shutterfly coupon codes or gift cards and order them their own photo book of our wedding photos once our photographer gave us our pictures back, so I went another route.
So here we go, the gifts for our parents.
Mothers Gifts: Celebration Cake Pandora Charm
We chose this, of course, so they could have a reminder of the wedding on their bracelet whenever they look at it, or when they show other people. It was a easy choice and they both loved them.
My Dad aka Ex-Roommate’s Gift: Glass Decanter
My dad is hard to shop for. The man has everything, so I really had to search long and hard for something that was:
2. Not a Gift Card
3. Something he would actually use
Then Mr. W said, “What about a Decanter?” I said, “Perfect! But why weren’t you this proactive while choosing groomsmen gifts?” But that’s a whole different story.
We had it etched with his initials on the front.

Mr. W’s Dad: A Pen
Yup, he got his father a pen. His father has an affinity for nice ink pens, so it was a good choice for him. We insisted he use it the next day to sign a pretty important document for us. He loved it.
