“Hashtag Wedding. Hashtag Hashtags.”

I can’t remember the first time I spotted a hashtag, although I’d be willing to bet our wedding fund that I clicked my first hashtag on Twitter sometime shortly after I joined in 2009 (the same year Twitter introduced using the pound sign to link groups, events, and ideas). The humble hashtag has evolved beyond trending topics on Twitter and is now used globally on many different networks to not only link concepts, but also to add unnecessary post script to social updates. #likethis

Honeymoon in My Hometown: Charlottesville, Virginia

I’ve been asked to share my recommendations for visitors to Charlottesville many times via private message on Weddingbee. When I learned about the “Honeymoon in My Hometown” tradition among Weddingbee bloggers, I was excited to write my own edition.

First of all, know in advance that if you visit Charlottesville, you will always want to return. People call it a boomerang town because everyone who leaves will wind up coming back.

Real Weddings from the Hive: anothernewbee16

By beehive

Hivemember anothernewbee16 and her husband were married on a Sunday afternoon at Cafe Lurcat in Minneapolis, MN. Although a source of stress in the beginning, getting married on a Sunday was ultimately one of the couple’s best decisions that they made. Easy-to-Make Rustic Seating Chart Display

So, my mom had these cans hanging from strings in her garage. They were all connected to this long, beautiful, rustic-looking branch. This, with the idea that flowing ribbons are just cool, spawned my idea for the rustic seating chart we’ll be crafting today. My cousins actually had an outdoor rustic and boho style wedding, and they had ribbons and baubles hanging everywhere. The effect was so neat; I often want to recreate this kind of imagery in my crafts! With this seating chart, your guests will… read more

How to Make Your Own Adorable Wedding Ring Pillow

You heard it right. You can make your own ring pillow for your big day. I’m so excited about this project because I really feel it’s something that takes minimal effort but produces grand results. I kept mine pretty simple, and it still turned out neat! You could add so much to it, and you can also use a different fabric. I know felt might not be everyone’s cup o’ tea. I like it, but there’s nothing wrong with using a different fabric.

Even if you do use slightly different materials, the basic… read more
