I noticed some readers seeking advice about creating a slideshow for the reception, so I thought I should share my experience creating our slideshow..
Two days before the wedding I asked myself while I was stressing about all the details of our wedding, “Hey, wouldn’t it be nice to have a slideshow?”
Only 2 days before our wedding - what the #!@# was I thinking at the time?!
So I went ahead and decided to create a slideshow. I quickly flipped through all of our photo albums and found a lot of interesting photos from our childhood, and of our parents and grandparents when they were young. I selected about 40 images and arranged them in chronological order. To save time scanning all the photos , I placed several photos on the scanner and then edited each one to be saved as invidiual image files. For the slideshow design, I used Windows Movie Maker rather than Power Point because it was easier to add all of the photos (just drag and drop!) and I was able to add special features, such as videos and musical effects. Windows Movie Maker also lets you save the slideshow on a DVD, which is so much more convenenient than having to bring your laptop to the wedding. Most DJs can provide the equipment, such as a projector, screen and DVD player (sometimes a laptop too) for about $100-200.

“Arrive early or you’ll never see the Mona Lisa!” That’s just some advice from a friend who visited the Louvre last year. So as recommended by Rick Steves and all of our friends who travelled around Paris, we trekked over to the Louvre at the butt crack of dawn, around 8:00 am. As we were walking there, we noticed that the streets of the city were pretty empty. There were several people heading to work, such as this stylish guy who strutted off to work listening to his iPod.

Our Ideal Wedding Budget: about $20,000
The Actual Wedding Budget, here’s the breakdown:
(Note: The major budget costs are accurate but less significant budget expenses such as candy buffet jars, candy, DIY stuff, are an approximation of the original cost)
Ceremony/Reception Site Fee at the PAFA: $2000. The rental fee is typically $4000 at the PAFA, which is a pretty standard rate for renting a museum. For having a guest list under 100, the museum offered half the original rate.

We arrived pretty early on our first day of our honeymoon in Paris. Around 8:00 am all the locals were still sleeping and several cafes were just starting to open for business! Our hotel was located in the St. Germain des Pres District and there was a lot to see in the area.

I’ve seen a lot of weddings with color schemes of pink & green, purple & brown, and white & green. But what about orange, green, yellow & brown?
