I'm engaged to a pretty awesome guy who tests your assorted benzodiazepines by day and home brews by night. Together we have two fur children, Tsali and Tobias N. Fünkat. I'm a lazy perfectionist and eternal sorority girl who enjoys running, crafting, string cheese, good beer, and bad reality TV. We are planning a Big Fat Italian/Sicilian/Polish wedding filled with DIY details and are expecting 300 +/- 50 guests. Who Doesn’t Like a Place Card?

January 24th, 2011 @ 12:01 pm by Mrs. Biscuit

I have a confession to make.  I’m not really a fan of those big, giant, generic table numbers that many venues allow you to use.  I knew from the beginning of planning that I wanted something a little cooler.  At first, I thought I could use the idea of the Mad Hatter’s hat and put the table numbers IN the hat…

Venue Vents

January 23rd, 2011 @ 3:55 pm by Mrs. Biscuit

Today, I wanted to talk a little bit about finding a venue. This was pretty difficult for me. Before I was officially engaged, I had my heart set on getting married at Fallingwater, a home designed by the awesome architect, Frank Lloyd Wright.

Hark! A Theme Awaits!

January 21st, 2011 @ 5:47 pm by Mrs. Biscuit

So what’s the first thing you did when wedding planning?  Instead of doing all of those practical things, like picking a date or a church, I decided to pick a theme.  And then another.  And then another.  Since we’re just starting to get to know each other, I’ll quickly show you the themes that could have been.

1.) Originally, I fell in love with a Breakfast at Tiffany’s theme. The colors: Tiffany blue, black, and silver. I wanted the emphasis to be black, with the blue and silver VERY sporadically sprinkled in so it didn’t look like too much. At this point, I also wanted a very sleek sheath instead of a gown, which probably would have looked HORRID on me. Here is a perfect inspiration board I found to illustrate the theme:

Miss Biscuit Is in the Hizz-ive!

January 21st, 2011 @ 1:12 pm by Mrs. Biscuit

How ya doin’, hive?

I never thought I’d get the chance to say that on the big front page! I was waiting for class to begin this morning and just happened to check my e-mail. Amidst all of the random wedding spam I generally get was an e-mail from Mrs. Penguin! Sitting in my chair, I loudly squealed, “I’m a Weddingbee!” and everyone just looked at me like I was crazy.

Luckily, one of my friends is planning her wedding and understood completely. We spent the rest of the morning trying to decide which pseudonym would be best. It was a close call between Crepe and Biscuit, but Biscuit won out. Why? Well, crepes are quite refined, and biscuits are cute. I look like I’m 12 so, clearly, I’m a biscuit.
