My previous post mentioned these cookbooks from my bridal shower.
People close to me know that I am a horrible cook. On top of that, I don’t enjoy cooking. I really don’t like the idea of following instructions in such detail that one tiny teaspoon will ruin the entire meal. I realize that I have to follow instructions first before I can create meals on my own, but I wish I could do that now. Let’s just say that cooking and I just don’t get along. For example, I made pasta one night for Mr. Blush. I wanted to be “innovative” so I added BBQ sauce to it… TERRIBLE IDEA! Mr. Blush usually eats whatever I make him (because he’s so sweet and will eat whatever horrible thing I create). However, he couldn’t finish his “BBQ pasta”. I felt so bad! Although we laughed so much about it afterwards, I really wish I could cook! He thinks it’s cute that I can’t cook, but I tell him all the time that it’s not going to be so cute when we’re 50, 50 pounds heavier, and a whole lot unhealthier from eating out everyday. (I’m a bit neurotic when it comes to unhealthy and restaurant food.)
However, things changed after my bridal shower! How you ask? Well… Read more…

I was very cautious in making sure that our tables looked decorative, yet not overcrowded and messy. Originally, we were going to use name cards placed on napkins, but after realizing our tables needed an extra thing or two, I added these…

One of the highlights of the wedding was when our bridesmaids performed a “special song” during the reception. It was supposed to be kept a secret from me, but it slipped from my aunt’s mouth. Despite the fact that I knew what they were going to do, I had such a great time watching their performance. On top of that, all our guests absolutely LOVED it!
Thank you girls!! All that practice really paid off!!

O Weddingbee how I missed you! On top of the post-wedding and post-honeymoon busy-ness, we just moved into a new apartment this past weekend so it’s been quite hectic here. Once everything has settled down I will post everything and more, but for now here are a few pictures from our studio pictures taken by Dowan Kim from MiLK Studios. (You might remember him from our e-pics in NYC.)
We scheduled this photo shoot just 4 days before the wedding. It was a perfect way to relax and have a day off from the madness. This was also the first time Mr. Blush saw me in my dress. He liked lots.

I remember seeing a few Bees create newsletters for their bridesmaids, and I loved the idea! My bridesmaids are scattered all throughout the country — three live in Atlanta, one in Texas and the other three are here in New York, including my sister who is the MOH. Since most of my BM’s would not be able to search for dresses with me, I knew I wanted to inform them of all wedding updates via some form of newsletter/website.
I found Wix.com, which is a free flash program. I used Wix because their options were very design oriented. For example, I loved the post-it options. You simply enter the Wix Editor and design away! You don’t even need a domain name (although you have the option of redirecting your Wix page to your domain). It was a fairly painless process, although I did get frustrated many times because all of their tools were new to me. However, after a day of playing with the program, I created a cute and simple 4 page website for my maids to introduce them to what BM dresses I had chosen.
Here are a few screen shots:

Most of us have seen Sex and the City: The Movie. Remember the part where Jennifer Hudson’s character describes where she got her Louis Vuitton Denim pathwork purse?
I’ve never “borrowed” anything from this site, but I was checking it out the other day and realized they not only have bags and clothes, but they also have jewelry! Amazing and beautiful “perfect for wedding day” jewelry!

… I bought another pair for the wedding. I know, I’m so bad. You already saw my first pair, but I fell victim to the ridiculous late nights and even more ridiculous early mornings of this crazy thing called BLACK FRIDAY! I had been eyeing these shoes since they first came out, but didn’t want to pay the original price. So I waited and waited… and come Friday after Thanksgiving… these beauties were on SALE!

Our photographer, Dowan, owns and runs MiLK Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. He and his fiance flew all the way up to New York a few months ago to take our engagement pictures. We really wanted to take e-pics in New York because we live here and love this city.
We started off in Central Park and ended in Times Square. We spent an entire day with them! It was great because he was able to take shots of “normal everyday activities”. We were photographed during lunch, dinner, taking the subway, etc. I can not thank Dowan and his fiance enough for not only the amazing photos, but for their patience as we trekked most of Manhattan and even some of Brooklyn! Thank you MiLK Studios!!!!! We love you guys!!!
Our first stop: Central Park. We had a great time in the park- lots of amazing locations. Dowan takes a lot of candid photos (which I love!), but that annoying bag I’m carrying is in most of them. We had many many outfit changes so we actually lugged a suitcase around the city! It was horrible yet perfectly necessary. Dowan’s fiance helped us out a lot by rolling the suitcase around.

Wedding dress shopping was very easy for me. We went to two places - the first place was filled with amazing couture dresses, but they were way out of my price range. We then visited David’s Bridal. I tried on a total of four dresses and without much hesitation I picked the second dress. I didn’t have a “this is the dress” moment and neither MamaBlush nor SisterBlush cried. Despite missing those “moments” I thought were “supposed to happen,” I loved the dress and how well it fit my body. MamaBlush and SisterBlush agreed. After all, they were the ones who picked the dress out. Finding a dress for me was so quick and easy, as we were heading out the store I thought to myself, “Did I really just buy my wedding dress??”
I know at this moment I’m supposed to say- Mr. Blush don’t look! But I’m totally fine with him seeing the dress. Read more…

I was back in Atlanta for a week of wedding madness. It’s almost FIVE weeks away! Things are slowly chugging along, and to my surprise I’m not stressed yet.
We visited the reception site and went over many many details, one of which were the chair sashes!
We asked Angela, our reception site coordinator, if she could find us dark gray and peach chair sashes. She painstakingly found us the perfect shade of peach and here is what the two colors look like:
Please ignore the second bow on the peach chair- they are meant to be separate. Left is the platinum satin, right is the peach satin + peach organza. Read more…

As mentioned in an earlier post, we wanted our colors to reflect the special qualities of our wedding. After realizing that ash grey could mean about 100 different shades of grey, and no one could really pinpoint the color peach, I knew we wanted to create an inspiration board. So where else to turn but the Weddingbee Wiki!
I wanted to create something fabulous, like Mrs. Flamingo’s Polyvore boards, but I also wanted to use a few of my own pictures since peach was a hard color to find on the web. I’m sure you can use images of your own on Polyvore, but I couldn’t figure it out for the life of me. So I turned to my BFF- Picasa. In Picasa, you choose which pictures you would like in your board, click the collage tool, choose from different collage options, and you get a clean and simple Inspiration Board in no time.
