I wanted to do something special for my girls… my seven girls… hopefully, my seven bridesmaids!
It was an idea from long ago… the TEAM JOLIE/TEAM ANISTON shirts. Remember those? After the first series came TEAM JESSICA/TEAM NICK, TEAM LC/TEAM HEIDI, and so on. Then, a slew of wedding parties picked up the fad, and I loved it! I know, it’s so 2006, but I still wanted to make my bridesmaids TEAM SONG shirts!
Even before the whole shirt idea, I knew I wanted to write to all of my hopeful BM’s. I wanted to give them something from my heart, to express how much it would mean to me if they were to be BMs in our wedding. SO, I brainstormed what I could do, and came up with the following:
paper from Kate’s Paperie (I love it there!)
… because I’m a BEEEEE!!! I literally jumped from my chair and did an NYC apartment scream when I received the wonderful news!! (An NYC apartment scream is a scream with the total heart and soul involved in a real scream, but muted due to the closeness of NYC apartments.)
I began reading Weddingbee in the summer of 2007 when Mr. Blush and I got engaged. Since then, I have been quite the avid reader. Weddingbee is truly one of a kind and I am grateful and honored to be part of this amazing community!
Now for the introductions:
Mr. Blush and I met in the summer of 2003 during an overseas internship. After a great summer (just as friends), we parted ways—he went back to Urbana-Champaign, and I headed back to Boston. He would send me an occasional “how are you” email, but that was about it and we lost touch. However, two years later during our senior year we began speaking again. Speaking turned into talking everyday for at least two hours, which then culminated into the beginning of a long-distance relationship.
In January of 2006, Mr. Blush was working in Chicago and I was working in NYC. We both had plans of Law School, hopefully in the same city! But during the fall of 2006, I began school In Pennsylvania and he started school in NYC. As hard as our first year of law school was, it was great having each other. First year students usually study the same material and we were only about 2 hours away from each other, so we spent most weekends together. However, more than the difficulty of a long-distance relationship, was my difficulty with law school. I didn’t like it one bit and I decided to sever ties with it after my first year.
