About Me: I enjoy people watching (especially in New Jersey malls), obsessive collecting, drooling over contemporary art, browsing flea markets for vintage finds and eating an absurd amount of cheese. In my Philadelphia abode, I create mixed media artwork and one-of-a-kind home accessories in the company of my farmer-tanned fiancé, our Westiepoo (Betty White), our three rabbits (Cadbury, Willie Nelson and Applesauce) and our two frisky chinchillas (Ethel Funk and Maude).

For our table numbers, I decided to draw a different bird in brown ink for each table number. On the opposite side of the card is a stamped number (using Martha’s stamps) in brown ink. The table cards are made out of light blue floral scrapbook paper that I made double-sided by using some spray adhesive. I’d like to recommend against using spray adhesive on your kitchen floor when you’re desperate for a clean, flat space because it will result in sticky shoes for all of eternity. Read more…

Here are the mock-ups of what our special table decorations will look like. The egg tree will be on the placecard table, while the bird tree will be at the photobooth scrapbook station area.

I’m a sad bunny. On Sunday evening, my boss at the magazine that I work for left me a voicemail saying the magazine is folding and they are laying everyone off due to a lack of cash flow. I soon found out that by “everyone” they meant my friend and I. It’s probably for the best, but that doesn’t change the fact that I’m unemployed and have no idea how I’m going to pay the bills, not to mention tackle the wedding expenses.

I couldn’t be more thrilled with our invitations! I knew from the start I wouldn’t be able to tackle DIY-ing our invites on my own, due to my totally OCD behavior and the fact that I have a habit of changing my designs as soon as I grow tired of looking at them. As a result, I headed on over to Etsy one year ago and found a lovely woman by the name of Cindi, aka BrassPaperclip. Cindi specializes in cards, gifts and custom creations and she is a goddess when it comes to customer support. I was showing Mr. CC how much I have babbled to her via Etsy and it seriously took me forrrrrreeeeeeepaever to scroll through all of our past conversations. She has put up with me chatting her ear off about the details and I’m so grateful for her hard work and super fantabulous personality.

I bought my outfit for our bridal shower from Anthropologie over the weekend, and then immediately felt guilty for spending so much money since my wallet is only used to dishing out money for dresses from H&M or Target.

I couldn’t find these items on the Anthropologie website, but I really dig the vintage flair the two pieces have. The bird pin came with the wee sweater, which I thought was precious.

Even though I read the Gocco instruction manual and watched the how-to videos a million times, I was still really nervous about breaking open my new Gocco machine. I decided to start simple, with only one color (black) and a simple line drawing illustration that I drew.

This is me right before my Gocco machine decided to teach me my first lesson. Pardon the mess, I tend to fling stuff everywhere when I’m attempting to be crafty. I also tend to wear unmatching jammies. And yes, those are pink princess balloons.

I just realized I’ve never posted about our fabulous dj! At first, we were planning on DIY-ing our wedding music with an Ipod, but I knew I would end up freaking out about the music on the wedding day if we did it ourselves. I have this image in my head of me hauling a boombox around for backup. I was also scared there’d be a lot of this going on:

I desperately need your help with honeymoon planning. Mr. CC and I know we want to go to Italy in late May ’09 for roughly 10 days (a belated honeymoon since we want to wait until he graduates), and we know we want to go to Florence, Rome and Venice, but trying to figure out how to piece it all together is making my head spin.

Unfortunately, this has been a pretty stressful week of wedding budgeting in our candy land. Mr. CC and I have been cutting costs wherever we can since we decided to pull our contract with our photobooth vendor.
