About Me: I enjoy people watching (especially in New Jersey malls), obsessive collecting, drooling over contemporary art, browsing flea markets for vintage finds and eating an absurd amount of cheese. In my Philadelphia abode, I create mixed media artwork and one-of-a-kind home accessories in the company of my farmer-tanned fiancé, our Westiepoo (Betty White), our three rabbits (Cadbury, Willie Nelson and Applesauce) and our two frisky chinchillas (Ethel Funk and Maude).
I kind of doubt that any of our groomsmen would be browsing Weddingbee, but just in case, I’ll put their gifts behind a cut!

Sometimes it’s hard not to get lost in the chaos of planning a wedding. Somewhere between picking out ribbons for the invitations and accessories for the tuxes, it has become easy to mull over whether or not we want the pineapple or apple-colored toaster. Despite the fact that I feel very passionately about my love for the apple-colored toaster, I would take pineapple in a second if it made Mr. Candy Corn make his happy the-Eagles-just-scored-a-touchdown-and-won-the-game face (for those of you who aren’t familiar with the Eagles, this is quite rare).

This is our O-tel (say it with a French accent, for it is Philly’s only French O-tel), the Sofitel Philadelphia. I get mocking rights since the pop-in-law-to-be is French and will soon be family!
Located in the heart of the city, the Sofitel is the cornerstone of the new French Quarter, just steps from Rittenhouse Square. The former Philadelphia Stock Exchange Building, this hotel infuses French flavor with American style. Many of the staff are French, as is the cuisine in the hotel’s full-service restaurant, Chez Colette. With 300 rooms of unusually large proportions, averaging 400 square feet, it markets itself as a 4½ star hotel. Amenities include large desks, three phones in each room, high-speed Internet access and French chocolates on the pillow nightly (um, count me in).

Before I stress myself out trying to finalize my wedding attire (I’m very tempted to sport a poncho on the big day), I figured I’d ask the kind readers out there for some fashion advice!

Mr. Candy Corn and I have been slowwwly adding items to our registry lists for the past couple of months (I thought we were done at one point and then looked at the number of items on our list and it was a whopping 14 items). I would’ve never thought that picking out gift options would be so difficult for us, but it’s harder than it looks to come up with a wide variety of items with different price ranges. Plus, I have some sort of weird Catholic school girl guilt (and I’m an athiest, so I’m not sure how that works out…) when it comes to people buying things for us. I’d be ecstatic if the only gift we receive is a monkey peeler. Come on folks, it’s shaped like a monkey AND it peels things!
Drumroll, please. I would now like to introduce you to our insanely cluttered collage o’ my favorite registry items (compliments of Polyvore, thanks to Ms. Flamingo’s recommendation!) !!

For our rehearsal dinner, which will take place on the eve of our wedding, we’ve decided to go with the super delicious Japanese & Thai restaurant, Teikoku!

As far as our wedding cake goes, we know we want it to be round with buttercream vanilla frosting, but other than that, we’re having a difficult time making a decision on the decorations and flavors!
Since the cake is included in our catering package with the museum, it would be foolish not to use the cake decorator provided. Judging from the photos we saw of the baker’s past work, he seems to work with minimal designs, so we’re trying to find a very simplistic and elegant design that they can work with - that way we don’t have to go over budget with fancy fondant frills.
Help us pick between our favorites (or feel free to comment with suggestions of your own!):

On our two year anniversary (the year Mr. Candy Corn proposed), I gave Mr. Candy Corn 365 Hershey kisses, each one with a note inside wrapped around it, with reasons why I love him (it may not sound like a lot, but 365 reasons were pretty hard to come up with!). It took me months to do this (unwrapping and re-wrapping the kisses with the neatly-written note). I put them in our “happy box” that I collaged with things that reminded me of us. Anyway, Mr. Candy Corn opened the happy box sometime last summer and discovered where our random roaches were coming from (we’d find one once a month or so). The box was infested with hundreds of roaches (AHH!), so we had to throw all of the Hershey kisses away. It probably wasn’t the most well thought out anniversary present on my part. Note to self: next time use Tupperware!
Luckily, I had written down all of the 365 reasons in a notebook so Mr. CC could look back on them. I decided to share them with the Weddingbee readers, to give you folks a sneak peek into our somewhat bizarro relationship.
