During college, my roommate and I were really into buying different kinds of shampoo. We joked about opening up our own salon to do makeup and hair, since we both really enjoyed doing both. I’ve tried a ton of products, so here are some of my favorites that I’ve used over the past few years!
Lanza - for dry hair
Pros: It’s relatively inexpensive and you can find great deals. In my opinion their color care line is the best, but it’s more expensive than the regular line.
Cons: After awhile, it starts to feel like it doesn’t work as well as it did in the beginning

When Mr. Caramel and I were dating seriously, we knew it was heading for marriage. So we half jokingly discussed ring shopping together. I definitely wanted a ring that no one had, so I tried looking for antique style rings.
The ring I ended up loving so much was from a cheapy website. I seriously didn’t care about carats or size or anything. All I cared about was that it was a beautifully styled ring! I showed Mr. Caramel the ring that I fell in love with, and he later told me that there was no way he could get me this truly crappy ring from an online source! I guess the quality was pretty terrible. Little did I know back then that the ring is often extremely significant for the male, sometimes even moreso than for the female!
So anyhow, this is the picture I showed Mr. Caramel:

If you or someone you know is planning to throw a bachelorette party in Vegas, here are some tips that might help you out:
- wearing matching tops or a funny veil always helps you get into clubs for free and skip the lines! People who work at clubs will assume that you’ll bring the party into the club.
- the Mandalay Bay Spa is a great place to bring the girls for a day at the spa. I am the Spa Girl, and I give Mandalay Bay’s spa a grade “A”! For just $30, you get an all day pass to beautiful hot tubs, minty smelling steam rooms, a dry sauna, and massages & facials if you decide to get one. However, keep in mind that weekends are supposed to be only for Mandalay Bay guests only, but if you call in ahead or ask really nicely they should just let you in.

My bridesmaids continued my bridal weekend by flying me to Vegas! To follow along with the Sex & the City theme, we stayed at the New York New York hotel. On the first day, they pulled out these tank tops they had made for me. I found out that one of them stole a picture from my laptop weeks ago.

It took me a long time to decide what kind of details I wanted for my wedding. Ironically, I ended up making completely different decisions on my dress, shoes, and hair. I first thought I wanted a princess gown with a LONG train since the church has a gorgeous long aisle. For shoes I thought I’d end up wearing sneakers, honestly. And as for my hair, I knew I wanted it all down, but recently changed my mind because it was difficult finding the hairstyle I wanted.
These were the type of dresses I originally wanted:

I just had the most fantastic weekend ever! My bridesmaids threw me one amazing shower and we finished off with an even crazier bachelorette party. I can’t get over how adorable the decorations and details were! The best part was that people kept going “this is SO you!”
I love that my bridesmaids knew me so well.
The theme was:

“Maybe some women aren’t meant to be tamed. Maybe they need to run free until they find someone just as wild to run with them.” (SATC)
Yes, I’d like to say that I want to open every post with a Sex & the City quote, but I don’t know if I can quite make it.
How did Mr. Caramel and I meet? Like I mentioned before, we met in college. However, he was just a mutual friend for awhile. He played guitar and sang for our college church group and I lead the dance team. After graduating, there was this tension between us. We ended up talking and he told me that he had liked me for a long time (I was in total shock - this guy seemed so anti-girls!) So after deciding to give it a shot for 2 weeks, I felt this huge wave of “wow, I never knew that he had this side to him before!”
I am so happy to be Miss Caramel! “Caramel” has been sort of a nickname for me since college, so REALLY– I love being Miss Caramel!
I’ll cut right to the chase; I have only about 6 weeks until the big day…. and how have I been feeling? Very relaxed. Strange, right? I was going crazy a few weeks ago, but then I had this sudden wave of “Oh well, what good is it if I worry about it all the time?” I’ve also realized that I do not like registry shopping as much as I thought, my diet of losing 10lbs is ridiculous, and that I am looking forward to my honeymoon way more than my wedding day.
I absolutely have to plan ahead, so before I even got engaged I knew that I wanted:
- to get married in a church (this would mean two locations- church & reception site)
- to have a honeymoon in Italy (I studied abroad in Florence)
- to make my wedding as unique, creative and “wow I’ve never seen this before!” as possible.
