About Mrs. Crab Cake

Because there was a Mass at 5, and there would be throngs of people milling around the church when Mass let out, we decided to play it safe and get back to the church just before 6 and hide. We tried once to get out and take some pictures, but our guests were already starting to arrive, so I ran back into the Bride’s room…

Ornamental Inspiration

December 18th, 2009 @ 12:50 pm by Mrs. Crab Cake

Since I never did an inspiration board for our wedding, this was my first attempt. It was fun. I went straight to Etsy, typed in “Christmas ornament”, and, after searching through a few pages for something that caught my eye, I found this little lovely.

Finally, with most of the formal pictures out of the way, it was time for Mr. CC and me to get a little time for photos of just the two of us.

About Mrs. Crab Cake

Hi, I’m Mrs. Crab Cake and I used to blog here. I know, it’s been a really long time since I had anything wedding related to say. Well, it’s not that I don’t have anything to say, it’s just that I am (was) totally over our wedding. After 14 months of engagement, I had no desire to think about, or write about, the wedding. That,…

About Mrs. Crab Cake

I really didn’t elaborate much on this before the wedding because there wasn’t much for me to talk about. One of my bridesmaids, AC, is a florist. I never considered hiring anyone but AC to design my florals. In fact, we discussed it before I even met Mr. Crab Cake. This is why I say I sort of DIYed my flowers.

After months of harassing AC…

A Bee’s Life: Crab Cake Edition

August 21st, 2009 @ 2:11 pm by Mrs. Crab Cake

Like Mrs. Penguin, I was totally oblivious to blogging before I started looking for wedding inspiration. Sure, I’d heard of blogs, but the internet wasn’t something I spent a lot of time with. At least, not like I do now. And to be perfectly honest, I have no idea how I stumbled across Weddingbee. I just remember thinking how cool these girls were, how creative,…

I saw this wedding this morning featured at Craftzine.com. The Bride and Groom are sheepherders. Apparently, his waistcoat is made from the same wool as her dress.

Mommy Crab Cake’s Wedding Album

August 10th, 2009 @ 12:40 pm by Mrs. Crab Cake

A few years ago, my mom passed down her wedding album. My parents were married in 1979 in a very small ceremony. The reception was held in my grandparents’ backyard and my grandmother’s homemade spaghetti was the only thing on the menu.

Needless to day, it was a simple affair. Her album is similar.

Yes, my maiden name was Seeds. Like you plant in the ground. Blech.

In May, my mom and my MOH threw me an Around the Clock shower.

Instead of focusing on the clock theme, they focused on the blue dots. My mom did a great job of keeping everything cohesive!
