Hi guys!! Mr. Cream Puff and I got back from our honeymoon late late Tuesday night. I just logged in to WeddingBee and saw that I am now logged in as “Mrs. Cream Puff.” WEIRD. I still haven’t used the term “my husband” in a sentence (mostly because I have no need to refer to him in the third person, as we’ve been together nonstop for the past 2 weeks), but I think it will probably feel weird. I was just getting used to calling him “my fiancé!” Now he wears a ring on his finger, which looks totally out of place (but I love it!). I keep thinking, “you’re married?! To whom?!” And then I realize he’s married to me. Which, of course, starts me thinking about how weird that is all over again.
What? You want me to stop blabbering and tell you about the wedding? Okay, okay. Overall, the wedding was awesome! I was totally thrilled with how our color scheme panned out. The girls looked fabulous together, and the guys’ ties were magnificent with their tuxes. I hadn’t talked about our flowers too much, but I was totally blown away by them. The chuppah looked FANTASTIC in Crissy Field, it really did. I was thrilled. And the day? It seriously couldn’t have been more beautiful. Check out our guests and the perfect, blue sky:

Last night I finished my last DIY project: I had family and friends who were in town come over for a pizza party and trolley-car decorating party. We made four cheesy signs using cheap-o acrylic paint and foam board, and had a great time eating Zachary’s pizza.
And now, my friends, this is it:

Crissy Field or bust! The Cream Puffs are GETTING MARRIED!!!

There were certain projects I had to leave until the very end. Right now, Mr. Cream Puff and FSIL Puff are taking all the stuff for the reception to our caterer, and Puff Daddy is taking all the ceremony stuff to the day of coordinators. Momma Puff and I are about to go distribute OOT bags and go to the craft store to get the makings for trolley signs. It’s all coming together, people!
Here are some lovely pictures of OTHER people helping me with projects! I’ve noticed that people are totally offering to help now that it’s a week before the wedding. WHEW! I’m certainly not going to turn them down!
Mr. Cream Puff had an awesome system for putting our favors together:
OMG. I am so completely thrilled. As odd as it might seem to have engagement pictures taken a week before the wedding, I am so glad we did it. When we hired our new photographer (a month ago), she really wanted us to take some engagement pictures. She said it would loosen us up and help us get comfortable with her, so that on the day of our wedding we’d be sort of “used” to someone snapping tons of pictures of us. She was SO right. After our session with Kim on Friday, we were even MORE sure that we’d made the right decision to “fire” our old photographer and get a new one. Kim of Jennifer Kloss Photography is amazing. We felt totally, 100% comfortable with her, and she’s really, really talented.
She and Jen really wanted us to have some pictures before the wedding, for two reasons: first, they wanted us to have them to display at the wedding, and second, they wanted us to see more of Kim’s work. And in just three days, Jen emailed us the teasers. Holy. Crap. That’s all I have to say. Holy crap. It’s the best decision we’ve made yet.

“Make an elegant invitation statement without the fuss. Stylish invitation sets with matching envelopes, reception and response cards included.”
We had kind of a difficult time deciding what type of guestbook to choose. We thought about photo mats, polaroid guestbooks, etc. etc. Nothing seemed quite right. At the end of the day, Mr. Cream Puff really wanted a photobooth, so we decided to split the cost on it and get one. After that, our guestbook decision was an easy one.
Remember my photo album for our professional pictures (I mistyped my post and it was super confusing? Now maybe you remember, haha)? That was made for us by one of my old co-workers, who has gone into business making amazing albums. She also made us our guestbook, which is made to match.
Well, my friends, it is now less than a week to my wedding–I can’t believe it. I am totally calm, I kid you not. Almost everything is done. Momma Puff and Puff Daddy are coming into town tonight, and they each have a short list of projects to help me out, but all the big things are DONE!
The one thing that has been a major lifesaver for me throughout this wedding process has been my Mad Crazy Skills of Organization. I am a Virgo and find organization infinitely amazing and loads of fun (the sick thing is that I’m totally not kidding!). Organizing all the details has actually been pretty entertaining for me, but also really helpful for all of our vendors.
First, I’d like to share with you what our house looks like right now. After that, I’ll get into my planning organization. Some of you might not find organization as thrilling as I do, so I expect that there will probably be about two comments on this post. But if this helps two people get better organized, I figure it’s worth the post. ![]()

Let me tell you a little secret, my friends: it is a very good thing that I got most of my DIY projects finished early on! There were a few things that I left to the end, and I have hated those things! Exhibit A is our rehearsal dinner invite. I really love the design for these, but they were a lot of work and I only ended up making half of them (half the guests, mostly bridal party, were invited by word-of-mouth). I have to say, though, I do think they turned out pretty cute.
Our rehearsal dinner is at an old-time touristy Chinatown restaurant with karaoke. I really wanted the invitations to reflect the feel of the dinner, which was fun and kitschy. Here’s what I came up with:

When planning anything, our children are a major consideration for Mr. Cream Puff and I. Even if we’re leaving for just one night, we have to figure out what to do with our kids! The cats are usually okay for a couple of days, but our pooch is another story. Usually, we’re going camping or something, and she gets to come with:

Our wedding and honeymoon, however, have to be dog and cat-free.

Mark your calendars, people! There’s going to be a BEE MEETUP in the bay area! Here’s the deal: a bunch of local bees thought it would be fun to meet and hang out, so they decided to plan a get-together (thanks, guys!). They’ve planned the meetup for:
Sunday, August 24th at 6pm
Beretta
1199 Valencia Street
San Francisco CA, 94110
If you’d like to contribute to the conversation, check out the thread here. It’s sure to be a lot of fun, so save the date!
Wow, you guys, thank you SO much for all of your support the other day. I feel significantly better after having a meltdown (hahaha) and now things are back to being all business.
The programs are finished (pictures to come a bit later), and even though they are printed with the wrong information, I’m just going to leave it. I obviously can’t un-sew them, and I’m definitely not willing to start from scratch. I don’t even feel like putting little pieces of paper inside to correct the error. My friend Amanda is going to step into my other bridesmaid’s place (thank you Amanda!), so no one is going to wonder why there are only four instead of five. I am really excited to have Amanda in my bridal party–she’s such a great friend.
Anyway, to follow the intro and Chinese Traditions for the program wording, here’s the Jewish Traditions wording. I hope some of you find it helpful!

Wow, I am totally mortified.
Friday was, overall, a horrible day.
It started out in the morning. I was facing a packed day, with work and wedding things to accomplish. I was driving down a busy street in San Francisco, on my way to have my eyebrows done (very important, haha), when I’m hit by another car. Yay. I get out and look at the side of my car, and it is messed up on three different panels. Luckily the woman who hit me (she tried to change lanes without looking) pulled over, but I really do not want to be dealing with this right now–especially since she specifically didn’t admit fault at the scene. Now we get to pay a $500 deductible which we may or may not get back (pending our insurance’s investigation), 3 weeks before the wedding.

Hi Everybody!
When I posted my programs awhile back, some of you were interested in reading about the various cultural stuff we’d included in them. First comes the intro and the Chinese traditions. Next time, I’ll post the Jewish traditions. Hope this helps some of you!
A Cultural Celebration
Our cultures are important parts of who we are as individuals and as a couple. It was very important to both of us to include symbolic Jewish and Chinese traditions in our wedding ceremony and reception. In the following pages, you will find explanations of these traditions.
Chinese Traditions
Earlier in the day, the families of the bride and groom participated in a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. The groom’s parents present the bride’s family with bao (bread buns) and wine, which is then split among the families. This symbolic gesture represents the two families coming together. The couple serves tea to their parents and older relatives as a sign of respect, whereupon the couple receives gifts of lai see (red envelopes).

WELL. What a pain in the neck! My recent DIY projects have been major headaches, and the ketubah is no different. As you may recall, I finished the artwork ages ago, but I couldn’t find anyone to do the Hebrew. It was really hard to find someone to do it, and I was starting to freak out that it might not get done (thus the headache). I finally found a rabbi at a temple in a nearby town, and he was nice enough to write out the Hebrew for me and format it in 4 different fonts, so I could choose my favorite. How nice!
As soon as the Rabbi finished the Hebrew, I ran home and formatted the English part, which turned out to be significantly longer than the Hebrew. I decided to put the lines for us to sign just under the Hebrew, so it looked a little more even. I put the words onto the ketubah using my gocco machine (more on that in a minute). Here is the finished project, all framed and matted:
Now that we’ve got gifts rolling in (yay!!! so exciting!!!), our thank you notes are rolling out. I am really excited about our thank you notes, so I thought I’d share them with you guys sooner rather than later.
For my business, I started making cards out of plantable paper. This idea really excites me because it’s good for the environment (the paper is recycled) and it’s pretty (they grow into flowers). I think these cards are perfect for thank you cards, because our guests can plant them and be reminded of our wedding for years to come.
Here’s the front of the cards:
I tried my hardest to get most of my DIY projects out of the way months ago. I have to say, I did a pretty good job (pat on the back)! There were a few things, however, that I simply couldn’t do. Assembling the favors is one of them (still can’t do that–it’s too hot), and creating signs for various things was another.
Now that the plans are finally coming together, I know what kinds of signs I need. This weekend, a bunch of my friends came over and we all worked on crafts together. My main objective was to get some of my signs completed. I am happy to say that I finished two large sandwich boards for our ceremony:
