In between my dance with my dad and Mr. C’s dance with his mom, dinner courses were served to our guests to keep the evening flowing. While we had promised ourselves that we were actually going to eat at our wedding, we admittedly ate fairly quickly so we could mingle with our guests.

After our sneak peek at our beautiful reception space, we snuck out of the ballroom while our guests started making their way to their seats. We lined up with our parents and bridal party for our grand entrance and really didn’t care that we had just spent the last 45 minutes or so chatting with our guests — it took none of the excitement away from the fact that we were about to be introduced as husband and wife. As the clock was nearing 7:00, the catering manager grabbed Mr. Cupcake, me, and our parents for a sneak peek at the transformed ballroom before the doors opened for our guests. I think I actually gasped when I saw how beautiful it looked. Every little detail had finally fallen into place, and the result was divine!

After our wonderful ceremony, we had a somewhat small window of time to get some formal photos taken. Around 4:40, we herded our families back into the sanctuary to get some traditional group photos. The Wiebners did a magnificent job speeding through everything painlessly, and we’ll now forever have these traditional photos to document the family members who were there with us on our big day. But truth be told, in all reality, the pics are kinda boring. You know — everyone standing in the same spot smiling…. aaaaand that’s pretty much it. It was definitely something we wanted to do, and we’re glad we did it, but there’s not much to tell you about them. So I won’t bore you with those cookie cutter shots. Read more…

Although we spent months planning “the party”, we all know that what truly matters on the wedding day is the ceremony. It felt so surreal to hear the organ playing as my bridesmaids walked down the aisle and I made my way to the door of the sanctuary, arms linked with my parents’ — my mom to my left and my dad to my right.

Once Mr. Cupcake and I had our first look, we spent some time taking photos with our bridal party and parents. It was important to us that it be a quick and painless process, and The Wiebners made that very easy! Weddingbee reader Anne L. kindly emailed me about this amazing sale going on in Pennsauken, New Jersey, this Saturday (Valentine’s Day!). The Goodwill location at 5461 Route 70 will be selling wedding gowns. Now, I know what you’re thinking, and these are not just any wedding gowns that women donated from their 1986 wedding (complete with puffy sleeves). Nope, the good people of Goodwill went door-to-door to area bridal stores asking for donations, and acquired modern gowns to sell to the public at very, very generous prices.
Used gowns will sell for about $50, while new designer sample gowns will cost up to $300. A Reem Acra New York that originally sold for about $1200 will cost $250 at the sale. A Jasmine Haute Couture gown that originally sold for about $900 will cost about $200 at the sale.
The store will also have tuxedos, flower girl dresses, and accessories at significant discounts.
Of course, a sale like this does not happen every day, so you might want to arrive before the doors open at 9 AM if you are hoping to get your hands on one of these bargains…. it’s worth a shot, as you never know what a great deal you may find! Read more…
