Arghhh! My cousin pointed out to my aunt, who pointed out to my mom, who pointed out to me, that we have a typo in our invitation. A typo, as in, the DATE is misspelled. @#$%^&*!! I swear I checked that stinkin’ thing up and down, backwards and forwards, and gave it to no less than 4 other people to proofread. No one caught it. I did notice that the word looked a bit funny, but then again I always thought that the word looked funny in general (you know how certain words just look weird when written out?) Unfortunately it looked funny cuz it was WRONG.
I posted my invitation design a long time ago, but of course the misspelled word was one of the areas that was hidden, otherwise I’m sure one of our readers would have caught it!

Oh well, too late to cry over spilled milk. Did you make any invitation blunders?

I love the look of Asian paper lanterns, and so I ordered a dozen red and white ones from Asianlanterns.com 5+ months ago. But the one thing that eluded me was how to light them. After some pondering/googling, a little ingenuity, and with my fingers crossed, I ordered LED glow sticks from Technomoves. Whaddya know, it actually works!!
I really, really, REALLY want a group picture of everyone that attends our wedding! Maybe something like this, but I’d like to be able to see everyone a little better:

(pic from knottie Mrs. Julia Goolia - amazing bio by the way - love the Wedding Singer reference!)
Now has anyone done this? When is the best time, and how do you round up your guests? I was thinking of including a line in the program booklet, probably at the end of the order of the ceremony which says, “Please remain in your seats for a group picture!” What do you think? This will certainly be a test of my photographer’s skill and swiftfulness!

Actually, no, I’m not a big drinker (in fact, I am a total light-weight) but I still love the idea of a signature drink! I’ve been scouring the web for some fun, fruity mixed drink ideas that will be easy for our venue to concoct (at no extra charge). So that means I must stick within the basic alcohol types/brands included in the package and the usual mixers. Nothing too fancy schmancy, but definitely tasty!

Geez, I have so much going on in my little head these days that I can’t even figure out what to blog about! So, my apologies for the lack of posts as the wedding approaches (1 1/2 months!!!). Last week we went to our venue and saw what the place looks like for the first time with all the flowers and trees in full bloom. I am SO excited about our ceremony, which will be held on the outdoor terrace (please Mr. Weatherman, bring me nice weather!), right outside our reception ballroom.

Here is the hallway that leads to our ballroom (we are in our own separate wing of the hotel). My mom absolutely loves this hallway and the cool glasswork, it’s very museum-like.

To reduce the length of my candles!
Mr. E’s sister was kind enough to give us 4 dozen cylinder vases left over from her own wedding last year. I wracked my brain trying to think of how to put these to best use. So I decided to fill the bottom of each vase with some coffee beans and stick in a long candle. Why coffee beans? Because Mr. E and I LOVE coffee. I managed to get him addicted to his daily cup of joe (although we are both good about limiting our intake to just one cup a day). We also love the SMELL of coffee, so we are hoping that by bringing in the beans, we can bring the aroma of coffee into our reception space. However, I have noticed that the smell isn’t too noticeable, so I may have to add a small layer of ground coffee at the bottom since it smells stronger. I could be wrong, considering that we will have 40 of these vases around the ballroom, and I only have one as a mock-up!
But anywhoo, I could not find the ideal size/shape candles anywhere. I wanted something thicker than a regular taper candle since those don’t last long and they drip too much. Luckily I found these 1.5-inch thick and 9-inch tall candles at Hobby Lobby (candles are 50% off every other week!) for $1 each. Score! Unfortunately the bottoms are designed to fit into a candle holder, so I had Mr. E chop off all the ends. Then I am in the process of burning these candles down to the right height. Let me tell you, these things will burn FOREVER!
Yesterday we found out that Tiger Woods will be staying at our venue the weekend of our wedding! Whoa! Apparently there is a big golf tournament in the area that weekend (obviously). How cool would it be to have him as a wedding crasher?! Well, Mr. E said that he wouldn’t want the attention taken away from us, which I agree is absolutely right… but I definitely wouldn’t mind if Tiger showed up at 11pm and had a few drinks with us, haha. The hotel is fairly small, only 200 +/- rooms, so he can’t be all that hard to find… Maybe I’ll stalk him and slip an invitation under his door, hehehe. Totally Kidding!! But Tiger, if you are reading this, feel free to make an appearance! ![]()
The only bad thing is that we can’t get upgraded to a suite since Mr. Woods and his entourage have monopolized them all
Bummer…

I remember that last year, there was some hoopla when Oprah “crashed” some people’s weddings. The Tulsa couple was less than thrilled. How would you react to a celebrity wedding crasher, or has it happened to you (or someone you know?)
Last night was our flower trial!! I absolutely
our floral designer, Kelly Marie, from Fleur Couture. Initially we met with 3 fantastic florists, all of whom I would have had no qualms about hiring because of their skill. I really struggled with this particular decision, as they were all in a similar price range. But Kelly really *got* my vision, and we picked her purely because of her creativity and vision. I was supposed to see a sample of my bridal bouquet as well as a low centerpiece, but unfortunately her wholesaler got mixed up and didn’t supply some of the flowers for my bouquet (I changed our meeting date a few times). At least I got to see my centerpiece come to life!
I was inspired by these white lanterns I found on Ebay. I asked Kelly Marie to surround it with flowers and create a “garden-like” feel.

This past weekend I decided to do a mock-up of our Guestbook table so that the Day-Of Coordinator will know how I want it to be set up. I know, I know, its a Guestbook table for cryin’ out loud… how hard could it be?! Mr. E thinks I have a knack for making things more complicated, hehe.
Our guestbook will be set up on a 6-foot long banquet table in the cocktail hour area. So I cleared off my dining room table (this was difficult, as it was literally BURIED under mounds of wedding-related stuff) and pulled out one of the leafs, which made the table exactly 6-feet long. Perfect!

Yay, MyPublisher is offering coupon codes for Buy-One-Get-One-Free photobooks!! I had an awesome experience with MP and my photo guestbook, so I definitely plan to use it again for my actual wedding album. Now I can get one for my parents (or Mr.E’s parents) for no extra cost… what’s not to love?
Click here for the link. MP will email you a coupon code which is valid through January 31, 2008!

Ok, I’m a dork, but ever since my invitations went out last Monday, I can’t wait to go home and check the mail!! Mr. E and I both guess how many RSVPs will be in the day’s batch. They have been rolling in with surprising consistency… and so far, they are all YES!! (Thats a good thing, but we need a about 20+/- declines to be at my ideal guest count of 180).
I know this is a total generalization and it differs for everyone, but based on your experience, what percentage of declines did you get?
Hrmm, now this is something new! The whole Trash the Dress photo shoot trend is gaining popularity these days, but a VIDEO shoot is definitely newsworthy!! I would totally do this except for the fact that I adore my dress too much and I don’t think I’d have the stomach to trash something with so much sentimental value (what can I say, I’m a sentimental fool)… but I digress.
Remember my friend Amy, whose amazing wedding videos I shared a few weeks ago? Well apparently she couldn’t get enough of her videographer, Still Motion, so she went back (to Toronto) for some more fun. This time, a Trash the Dress video AND photo shoot (gotta love vendors who can do it all!!). Check out the amazing video on theirblog (7.9.09 post). *sigh*
If only they weren’t in Canada.
If only they weren’t booked on my wedding day.
If only, if only, if only.
Must. Stop. Gushing ![]()
And here are some of of the still photos from their shoot (additional photos can be seen here.)
My bridal shower was this past Friday! Even though the event was intimate, I know my girlfriends went through great lengths to make the night special, so that meant a lot me. I am still waiting for the official “picture-taker” to send me some more pictures, but here are the few that we took on my camera.

The yummy food… I loved all the candles, such ambiance!
I plan to dance my little feet off on the night of my wedding, and I want my friends to do the same! In order to alleviate the issue of achy feet, I am providing flip flops for the ladies so they can kick off their heels and par-tay right along side me. (I was only able to find 15 pairs, which may not be enough, but whatever…)
