When we had finished taking pictures at the abandoned house and open field, we headed back to the venue to join our guests. Brian announced us as Mr. and Mrs. Espresso, and we made our way in!

I LOVED planning our wedding. Sure, there were moments when I’d start crying out of nowhere… or when under eye circles became the norm for a while :). But for the most part, I really did love it. And that was because the details, the food, the location, everything- represented our ideal wedding- and not someone else’s.

This detail especially embodies how we felt on that…

They come few and far between. Those moments when your family and friends are healthy… happy. When you can see everything in life for the blessing that it is, rather than the job, errand, or line on the To Do list that’s calling. When life is, in its purest form, good.

This was one of those moments.

Family photos… we love them. I grew up with 2 parents who were passionate about photography, and who in turn, passed their love onto me. Mr. Espresso has since become enthralled as well—and so we knew we wanted tons of photos on our wedding day… especially with our new families.

In addition to the music, it also began to sprinkle little drops of rain. It was wonderful. We walked through our friends and family as husband and wife for the first time.

I took the steps and made the walk. And now I was here, standing in front of Mr. Espresso; looking into his eyes and he looking into mine. Smiling, blushing, laughing. We were here… finally.

Before I saw him I knew he was there. Our photographers had spotted him. Photographed him. Our parents had walked down the aisle. And then one by one, so did our wedding party; our friends. They took the steps necessary to start our ceremony, our walk, our declaration to love each other, and only each other, forever. And now it was my turn.

Two o’ clock. October 4, 2008. And my fiance is waiting for me beneath the pines. Check my hair. Check my makeup. Check my dress… a little loose. I guess the seamstress forgot to put the clasp back on after altering it… but no worries, now I’m being sewn in (just a little added fun for the wedding night).

My makeup and hair were done. Now the only thing left to do was slip on my dress. A monumental and strange moment, all in the same. I’m putting on the dress that I’ll marry my husband in. The dress I wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole until the day of our wedding in fear that I would damage it, spill on it, catch…

So, while the girls were getting ready at the B&B, the guys were getting fancy at a friend’s cabin down the way called, “Dreamland”.

My wonderful stylist and colorist Jeanette had made the trek up the mountain to do my hair for our wedding (for free). She also had done my cut and color for me the week before as a wedding present. I honestly LOVE her! Here we are getting started.

Waking up on the day of our wedding was both surreal and calming. This was it. This was the day I was marrying Mr. Espresso: the sexiest, sweetest, and funniest man I have ever met. He is my best friend.

After I woke up, I stayed in bed for almost an hour, listening to faint noises outside my door, smelling the waffles and coffee the owner…
