Back in January, Miss GB 2.0 and I made the mistake of going to a “Wedding Fair.” Basically, you pay a fee to get herded into a convention center teaming with thousands of brides and their large entourages. There, you meet vendors who, among other things, want to tell you all about how they can make a music video of you and your spouse that can be played at your wedding. I can’t think of anything that I would rather not do. We don’t sing, except when we are trying to torture our dogs. Not even karaoke. Then, of course, there’s the heterosexism. Everything is geared towards the bride (singular, not plural). Two grooms? No raffle tickets for you!
Dear Readers,I’m wading through the dozens of fabulous names you suggested for my wife-to-be. You sure are a creative bunch! Instead of responding to the 100+ comments I thought I’d better settle the great naming debate in its own post (it totally was not a debate, but you know what I mean).
Miss Gingersnap is cute (and a very popular choice!), but the name makes me think of the horror movie, Ginger Snaps. I’ve never watched it, but not only is there a sequel, there’s also a prequel! Scary!

I want to say a big thank you to all of you lovely Bees and readers for your warm welcomes! I am totally overwhelmed by the love (in a good way). So as I try to collect myself, I thought I’d share my inspiration board with you. I stumbled upon Mosaic Maker last week and now I want to make an inspiration board for every aspect of my life. Oh, if only time would permit that.
Hello, Weddingbee readers! I’m Miss Gingerbread and I am so excited to be a new Weddingbee blogger.
Wedding planning has been especially tricky since the Gingerbreads just moved to Vancouver, BC from Southern California 6 months ago. I’ll admit that I relied heavily on Google as I tried to find our venues and vendors. Coming from the land of eternal sunshine, we were really challenged to use our imaginations, as we often found ourselves staring out the windows of one restaurant or another trying to imagine what it would look like in the summer, minus the snow and the dark.
An additional challenge is that we are a same-sex couple. Again, we had to tap our imaginations as we read books and magazines that kept referencing the role of the groom.
Miss Gingerbread (me) and Miss Gingerbread (her). Hmm, this is going to be confusing.
