About Me: I'm just your average obsessive compulsive, arts & crafts loving, funky-on-the-inside/boring-on-the-outside girl, who dares to say 'Hey! I can make that!' Nerdy professional by day, goofy won-ton by night. The won-ton sometimes comes out during the day when I'm fed the dollar breakfast at Ikea. Since our engagement, wedding planning has put me on high alert for bargains and I've been pushing my nimble fingers through callous building experiments!

I don’t know anyone else shares this sentiment, but one of the things I really looked forward to about being married was being able to pack that engagement ring away!
I have never been big on wearing jewelry, and had never dreamed about wedding rings of any kind. It was very weird to carry something so valuable on me all the time, and at the beginning it was honestly quite uncomfortable to have a thing sticking out at that odd (to me) spot on the finger! Mr. Green Tea offered that wearing it was not a requirement, but after leaving it at home for a couple weeks, I realized that it made him quite happy to see the ring worn. So I wore it most of the time, and got mostly used to it. 22 months later though, whenever the sticky-outty part hits or snags anything, it still freaks me out a little.

My wife (hee hee), Mrs. GT, asked me to fill in for her on this, the ‘We did it!’ post. I readily agreed (as I generally do to her requests) and now I am finding it hard to put into words what I want to write. Forgive me, as I have never blogged before and am having a hard time performing under the pressure of the Weddingbee audience.
What I really want to say is that the wedding was amazing. It was so much fun and we tried our best to make it a great experience for everyone there. We wanted it to be a celebration, not just a day about us. While not all things went exactly as planned, we really couldn’t be happier with the end result. To give you an example, below is the best man performing the double-fisted champagne spray dance. Yes, he was drinking straight from that magnum bottle.

So this is it! We’re getting married tomorrow and things are already crazy over here! If the mister finds out I’m up here talking to you all I’m dead meat so I gotta keep this one short!
I thought I’d at least say goodbye in person - sorry the video is crap and the sound super sucks but hey, it’s the thought that counts right? Here we are at the rehearsal a couple hours ago:
We’ll report back in a week and a half or so, until then, you all behave!
XOXO,
G2daT … and I’m out!

I’m happy to announce the near completion of one of my favorite wedding projects - the Marriage Celebration Tree!
We requested (and sometimes begged) for wedding pictures from our married guests, along with their wedding date and a quote of their choice. Here is how we’re displaying them (a few more are still in the works, and please excuse our messy garage!):

I really wanted to incorporate sparklers into the wedding, but not for the typical exit routine since we want to stick around ’til the very end. So instead, we’re setting a time and a song for a ‘Sparklers Celebration’ when guests will be encouraged to slow dance along side us with a sparkler in hand.
For display, we’ll put them in a vase and it’ll serve as a centerpiece for our escort card table:

Along our wedding planning process, we’ve tried to put ourselves in the guests’ shoes. After all, this will be as much a day for them as it is for us! Here are some of the things we’ve put together to optimize their wedding guest experience:
1. Taxi Tags - we’ve already informed guests via our wedding website that the venue allows overnight parking if they need to take a cab home and advised them to carpool. A sober helper will be in charge of passing these out to guests who look like they can use a ride home after the wedding.

I’m a thoughts over fancies kind of girl, so this DIY postcard STD really impressed me:
A perfect illustration of the couple’s shared love for books and coffee shops, this photo was taken at the cafe table where they met and they even photoshopped their kitty on the paper!

So our teabag escort cards are all done, but now I gotta figure out how to showcase them! The original plan was to display the escorts on the granite slab, with the teabags standing and lined up along the ribbon and labels identifying ‘His Family’, ‘Her Family’, and ‘Like Family’:

I seriously considered buying a little Chinese dress for my newest future niece to match her older sister, but decided against it because she’s probably most comfortable in her soft and breathable baby clothes. Then today the mister emailed me this picture of us he had on his phone, and my heart sunk a tiny little bit at the slipped opportunity to dress up the prettiest baby in the world as a little China Doll!

I bought the fabric steamer recommended by Mrs. Canary to take out the wrinkles on my dress. I purchased it from Amazon.com, and for whatever reason, the item came without that important instructions pamphlet that was rated as a must read!
Yesterday the MOH came over to help me ‘wing it’, and here are the results!
