I love baking for others, hosting brunches, and exploring NYC with my mans. Besides Mr. Hamster (of course), I'm attracted to shiny things, bold colors, snacks, matching and coordination, pork and duck fats, miniature versions of things, corny jokes and puns. We are planning a swanky Spring wedding in the heart of NYC, followed by a second reception in Singapore. From one city that never sleeps to another - I can't imagine a more exciting ride!
In my last video post, I introduced you to our lovely videographer, Wilson Fontaine. One of the cool things that Wilson does is incorporate more casual, pre-wedding footage with the wedding day events to create a complete story. With that in mind, Mr. Hammy and I met Wilson in Central Park to get some casual footage.
Mr. Hamster and I wore the same outfits we selected…

I check them twice, re-organize them, and do a little Hammy “High 5!” when I cross things off. Itineraries? Love ’em . I like to know exactly where I’m going and when I’m going to be there. Checklists and worksheets? Up there with cookies (Okay, maybe not, but what really *is* up there with cookies?). So when it came time for my final…

I am so excited to share our engagement photos with the Hive! After much deliberation over my outfit as well as the man’s, only to have our engagement shoot rescheduled due to crazy weather, we were able to finally have our shoot with our photographer, Erica Lyn.
Being in DUMBO, of course we had to take pictures by the Brooklyn Bridge:

Envelope liners are an easy way to add a finishing touch to your save-the-dates or invitations. I admit that prior to making them, I had never really noticed envelope liners before. But now, whenever I open a letter with a lined envelope, it’s an added bonus. If you make them from scratch, the process can be a bit tedious – make sure you have a…

Photography is extremely important to Mr. Hammy and me, and we started researching different photographers soon after we got engaged. I scoured New York Magazine, WeddingWire and reviews on the Intrawebs, and asked for input from friends. After emailing and meeting with a number of photographers, we made our pick - the lovely Erica Lyn!

In my last dress post, my exhaustive search for a fluffly, romantical dress with lots o’ lace left me with lots o’… nothing. It was then that my ever-honest MOH, sistah Hamster (heretoforth known as sis[Hams]ter), bestowed on me a mantra that shaped the rest of my dress shopping hunt:
“You’re just not sweet and delicate!”
(Mr. Hammy, if for some reason you got this far, turn back *right now*!!)

This past week, I had the opportunity to attend two shows. The Chocolate Show was an exhibition of all things chocolate - cooking demonstrations, book signings, chocolate fashion, and TONS of samples. The Wedding Salon was an exhibition of all things wedding - makeup demonstrations, pamphlet giveaways, wedding fashion and… SOME samples. So how did the two compare?

My love affair with Super8 began 5 years ago (I know, longer than my relationship with the mans) when I was researching videographers for my sister’s wedding. Just when I thought I couldn’t watch another 5 minute recap of a stranger’s wedding, I came across Wilson Fontaine and immediately fell in love with her work – see for yourself on her site:

When I first started my gown search, I did as any bride-to-be would – decimated my wedding magazines, ripping out pictures of any and every gown that I was even mildly interested in. Seven magazines, 50 pictures and one ginormous black-and-white cookie later, I evaluated my pics and noticed a few common themes:
1. Fluffly
I know. That is not a word. But Fluffly is how I…

I dread exercising. I know, that’s horrible - and to my credit, I like walking around the city, water sports, hiking, and the occasional run. But the Big E, which I define as getting up early to go to the gym, trying to figure out complicated machines at said gym, and getting frustrated at said gym, is not my idea of fun.

These past few weeks have been stressing me out. Everything is going great planning-wise, but it’s this crazy NYC weather! Way back when, we scheduled our engagement shoot - we chose October because usually the weather is crisp and cool, and the days are (mostly) sunny. The mans and I almost had our outfits picked out.
There was just one teeny, tiny problem - the extreme…

Prior to actually creating our save-the-dates, I had never done any embossing. But oh, what fun it was! Embossing the return address on our save-the-date envelopes was a quick and easy way to add a little extra touch to the finished product (and justify my heat-gun purchase, woo hoo!).

In my last venue post, I talked about The One (aside from the mans of course, haha) – our venue, the Pierre Hotel. While we were so relieved to secure our venue and date, it was certainly a stressful process. What I found really helped was having a set list of questions to ask for each potential venue to get a better understanding of how…

In my last DIY post, I showcased my very first DIY project - our save-the-dates! In this post, I’ll walk you through a step-by-step tutorial. It’s easy, I promise!
You will need:
Cardstock
Moo Cards
A printing device (printer, Gocco, etc.)
Adhesive foam stickies
Ribbon
Scissors
1. Cut your cardstock into desired save-the-date size.
Or, buy the cardstock pre-cut into the size you want (score!). Make sure that the cardstock fits into your…
