We really appreciate all of the amazing ideas you’ve shared with us to help make Weddingbee better! Recently we’ve implemented the following ideas:

• Aliangel suggested that we create a place on the site that allows Weddingbee users to address questions they have about using the site, accounts, etc., without having to email customer service. We recently added the support forum and it’s been a big hit!
• Mrs. Cupcake requested that we add links to the original post to all of the projects in the DIY section, because it may be helpful for DIYers to check out the original comments. So, now you can find links to the original post at the end of each DIY.
• Naangel55 and budgetbeautiful asked if we could have a new section in the bios where people could share stories about parties, so the “events” category was recently created. Naangel55 also requested a rehearsal dinner section in the bios, so we added that, as well!
• Ninthgirl suggested that because many readers are reading Weddingbee at work, it would be helpful if each post that was inappropriate to read at work had a little warning. Now, an editor’s note will be added at the top of any post that may be NSFW.

Thank you all for sharing fantastic ideas to help improve Weddingbee! Here are few that we have implemented as of last week:

• lolo7835 suggested that the Bios wiki page be organized by location. You can browse the newly organized bios wiki page here.
• flamingo requested that we add a ReTweet This option. You can ReTweet any of the posts on the blog by clicking the “ReTweet” icon at the bottom of the post.
• bearcub suggested that the boards have a new page for our South American brides. You can check it out here.
• cupcake suggested that original posts be linked back on DIY posts and we have conveniently provided the links in the DIY board posts.
• mrspaetz requested that we fix the PRO/Gallery page as it disrupts reading. We have fixed the problem and you can check it out on the PRO blog.

We really appreciate all of the fantastic ideas you’ve shared with us to help make Weddingbee better!  Recently we’ve implemented the following ideas:

• Tea suggested that we consolidate tags to make it easier to search through posts. You can see all of Weddingbee’s cleaned up tags here.
• Mrspaetz suggested adding a calendar to make it easier to browse any recent posts you may have missed.  We recently added calendar browsing along with our new streamlined front page!
• Gemerald suggested that we add a link to Bios of the Week in the Features drop-down menu, and now you can find it there.
• Many readers requested streamlined archives, so we recently launched a way to search posts by date, author, or tags.
• Caribqueen suggested that we add more “Real Budgets” from the bees, and we recently completed a Real Budgets series that reviewed all the bees’ budgets by category.
• JeanL1984 said requested a Weddingbee Twitter page. Now we have a Weddingbee twitter account that Mrs. Penguin updates with behind the scenes Weddingbee scoops!

Your ideas for improving Weddingbee continue to be awesome! We’re excited to grow the community based on your feedback, so if you’ve got a great idea to improve your Weddingbee experience, submit it to our ideas board! Recently we implemented the following ideas:

• Several readers suggested the “Weather” generation of bees (which we now call “Weather and the Elements”), and we recently rolled out our latest generation of icons! Our debut bee from this generation is Miss Star, and if you haven’t gotten a chance to check out the icons, here they are (and you can submit your application to become a bee and join this awesome generation here!).

• Chelseamorning suggested we provide a place where bees and readers can submit their DIY templates. Check out our new DIY board, where you can add or browse templates and tutorials for DIY projects from members of the hive!
• Jenniphyr suggested that we add bakers as a category under the Weddingbee PRO bloggers tab. We added it, and now our baker PROs have a category of their own!

We’re constantly absorbing your ideas, and implementing as many as we can! Some of the most popular ideas that have been proposed include:

• Lillindy suggests being able to go back and edit blog comments, much like you can go back and edit comments on the boards
• Tachee suggested being able to search for members based on location, as a means to hook up local brides-to-bee
• cj2009 suggested a “table of contents” for each bee’s archives, where you can find a stripped down listing of all the posts each bee has written
• jdelaney3 suggested making all external links open in a new tab or window when they’re clicked on
• Mr. Bee suggests fixing the boards and classifieds editor so it doesn’t generate weird HTML

We’re excited to hear all your new suggestions over on the ideas board! We’ve recently implemented three of the following ideas:

• Azula suggested we add a board dedicated to destination weddings, and the new destination weddings board is up and running!
• Miss Bruschetta suggested we tag all bees’ recap posts as “recap”, making them easier to find!
• At tessabella76’s suggestion, we added subscriptions to boards and classifieds. Now when you are interested in the followup comments on a topic, you can click the “Subscribe To Topic via Email” box, and any future comments on that thread will be emailed to you!

• chelseamorning suggests adding a place where readers can upload templates of their wedding projects to share with the hive
• Lillindy suggests a new bee generation: musical instruments
• crankyTS suggests keeping classifieds listings editable for a longer period of time, so when she has an updated listing, she can just edit her listing, rather than start a new one
• Miss Popcorn suggests a page where bloggers are sorted by wedding colors or wedding style

This week, we implemented two of your ideas, and hope they make surfing Weddingbee easier!

• A big shout out to Samisomsam, who suggested we add a page where the bee bloggers are sorted by the month and year of their weddings.  After learning how to use the wiki, she created a “Bees By Month” page and implemented her idea on her own!  Check it out! You go, Samisomsam!
• We also implemented MightySapphire‘s idea to add an engagement pictures section to the gallery. Check out all the great e-pics that have been loaded to the gallery this week, and upload your own!

• azula suggests adding a Caribbean, or Destination Weddings board

• LoriLori suggests making it mandatory for a classified poster to include their location, making it easier for brides to find goods and services in their own specific location
• tachee suggests being able to search for members by location, so that you can easily connect with brides in your area
• Mrs. Cupcake suggests adding a Weddingbee app for the iPhone

We’re thrilled that readers are submitting and voting on ideas for Weddingbee features!

Reader mrspaetz suggested the idea that users should remain on the same page after they log in to Weddingbee. Before, if you signed in on the front page, it would take you to the boards page. We’re happy to announce that we’ve implemented her idea, and you should notice that you now remain on the same page when you sign on! Thanks for the idea, mrspaetz!

We’ll continue to update you regularly about new and implemented ideas! If you have a suggestion or idea for Weddingbee, feel free to submit it here!

Thanks so much to everyone who has submited and voted on ideas for Weddingbee features! 

The most popular idea was to make the bride’s dress unclickable, and that idea has now been implemented!   Miss Duckling requested that we add an icon to make the Ideas link easier to find, so now you can find a “new” sign next to the Ideas link in the right column.  You can check out all the ideas we’ve implemented in the past week here!

We’ll be updating you guys regularly about new and implemented ideas, so please continue to submit and vote on ideas here!

We launched the Weddingbee Ideas Suggestion Box last Friday, and we’ve already been flooded with almost 30 great ideas!  It’s been a lot of fun to see the ideas and comments flying back and forth.

One of the ideas caught our eye, because we’ve been meaning to do it for years (and because it was a quick and fun project!):

Add Share Icons for Social Media

I’d love to see Weddingbee posts have icons at the bottom of each post where we could easily share that idea through social media, be it DIGG, StubleUpon, Kirtsy, Facebook, or Twitter. – Mrs. Lemon

Thanks, Mrs. Lemon!!  We went ahead and added links to share Weddingbee posts on most of those sites.

Sadly though, we’re not cool enough to have accounts on all of these services.  We could use the Hive’s help in testing it out… do you guys mind Facebooking, Stumbling, Kirstying, or Digging this DIY post by Mrs. Lovebird?  The links to do so should be at the end of the post…

We often get emails from people with suggestions for improving Weddingbee.  They usually start with: “There’s no “suggestion box” on Weddingbee, so I’m not sure where to send this…”

So we just built a Suggestion Box!  It’s called “Weddingbee Ideas” and you can find it here:
