Mr. Lab and I knew early on that we wanted to exchange gifts on the wedding day. I came up with my gift for him soon after getting engaged. It was SO hard to keep it a secret until the wedding day. I think he knew what was up the day I went to go “make” it though…
As for his gift to me, it was so sweet I had a hard time believing he came up with it all by himself! Of course, he ran it by FMIL & FSIL Lab for their approval first, but still, it was impressive.

I secretly envied the guys for what sounds like a very relaxing wedding morning. FSIL Lab forgot to order subs for everyone, but I found out later that the boys had enough time to hit Denny’s anyways. Lucky. Read more…

I know I left a lot of you ladies hanging, but I made sure to respond to any PMs I got regarding the topic of my eBay wedding dress. So hopefully you don’t all hate me for making you wait a year? *makessadpuppyeyesatyou*

I awoke sleep-deprived and very confused because there were some weird noises coming from the bathroom. The other girls woke up to the same noise and we realized my MOH was taking a bath in the enormous tub. We had a good laugh and joked about her sounding like a trapped dolphin splashing around.
Soon after that, my FSIL called to tell us she was on the way to take me to my hair appointment. She had opted to stay at her house the night before and was bringing my dress and shoes when she came to pick me up. But she couldn’t find the shoes (which were supposed to be with the dress) and so began the Great Missing Louboutins Saga! And just to start the day off with a little more drama, the only place FSIL could find to do my hair was across town, costing us precious hours off our wedding day timeline. But at least the salon did a fabulous job on my hair!
When we got back to the hotel, I opened the door to chaos. Read more…

The riverboat docked and we said goodbye to some of our rehearsal dinner guests who wanted to call it a night. But a few brave souls stuck around for the next event on our jam-packed wedding eve: the ghost tour!
Just before we hopped on the Old Town Trolley Tours to go on their “Ghosts and Gravestones Frightseeing Tour”, I heard a loud popping noise in the distance.

Some of the guys must have gotten lost on the way to River Street because we had to hold the riverboat to wait on them. (Like, I literally kept standing on the ramp to the boat to make sure they didn’t depart without our entire party!). They all made it and we were able to leave just a couple of minutes late.
But we were still missing four very important people. Read more…

After the tea party, all the girls ran back to my SIL’s house to sort through the mess of wedding supplies. I still had DIY projects that needed to be finished, so we split the group up to make the most of our time before the rehearsal later that night.
Half of the girls ran last-minute errands (store runs, dropping off OOT bags, etc.) while the other half transported as many things as they could to our reception site. I really (and I mean REALLY) lucked out because our wedding was the only one that weekend at Savannah Station, so the site coordinator let us go ahead and set up and assemble whatever we could. I left photos of what I wanted each table to look like for the coordinator and made a separate storage pile of all the ceremony decor for easy access the following morning.
When we finally finished, it was nearly time for the rehearsal! First, we had to check into our fabulous hotel to get ready for the rehearsal.

It’s the moment we’ve been waiting for. Recaps… commence!
We woke up bright and early the day before the wedding to fight over bathrooms (6 girls in a condo with 2 bathrooms!) while getting ready for the bridesmaids’ tea party I had organized.
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been fascinated by tea parties. My curiosity peaked when I read the classic Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
So it was only natural that I treated my girls to a tea party before the wedding! I sent out invites requesting that everyone dress up in “their best frocks and floppy hats”. Read more…

Okay, from here on out, I’m only going to bring up the bad stuff in context to the day it happened. I thought hashing it all out in a few posts ahead of time would be the best way to get it out of my system. But really, it gets to be too much and makes me mad all over again. Because I’m so close to the big wedding events, I’ll just mention things as they happen.
So, it is now just two days before the wedding and I’m still working around the clock to get things done before the wedding. I’m sleeping only a few hours a night and am constantly surrounded by all-things wedding, and quite frankly, I was going a little nuts…
Me having a crazy moment. I was near insanity at this point.
Mr. Lab was stuck back home 4 hours away because of his classes, so I thank God that I had some wonderful ladies accompany me to Savannah early to help out. Read more…

When I last left off, we were in the week of the wedding and I was frantically cutting projects left and right to save what little bit of sanity I still had left.
One thing I didn’t mention in the last post (but hinted to in my Licensed to Wed post) was a huge, and I repeat, HUGE, potential disaster.
Long story short, my SIL, who was in charge of booking our ceremony square in historic Savannah (because she could get a local discount), booked the wrong time!
Our wedding was to begin at 4:00 PM in Whitfield Square. But Mr. Lab got a call from his sister right before we left to get our marriage license saying that she had booked the square beginning at 4:00 PM! That meant there was no time to set up! We frantically started calling the security guard that was working the squares that day and our day of coordinator to see if anything could be done. But there was a wedding before us that was slated for 2:30 PM and they planned to take photos after their ceremony at the square.

Yeeeaaah…. it’s been a minute. You know, I always wondered why some of the bees blamed married life for their absence in the recap world. Aren’t they busiest DURING the wedding planning?!?
Well, now that I’m on the other side of the fence, I suddenly get it! If you think about it, we usually plan our weddings around other life changing events. Our wedding happened to coincide with graduation, a new job, and a move to another city. I’m currently living apart from Mr. Lab (again!) while he finishes his classes and I settle into my new job. A new job that I’m in my 3rd week of and already racked up nearly 15 hours of overtime for…
So my point is, believe the bees when they blame married life for the lapse in posting! (And blame the pro photos taking forever to come in!)
Anyhoo, I’m here to discuss a common topic post-wedding: the CHOP. As in, the post wedding haircut. Yup, I gots me one! But not for the reasons that most new wives do.
I took the plunge for my chosen career path. Read more…

When I first heard about this new series the bees were doing, I immediately knew I wanted a pink and gold ornament to work with. Why? (Confession alert!) Because I sorta kinda wish I had made our wedding colors rosy pink, gold, and champagne. Making this board was really fun, but now I’m kinda jealous of my own creation!
This ornament is SO me. I LOVE LOVE LOVE anything pink and glitzy and (as Carrie said to Samantha in the Sex and the City movie) “a little too much”. Working off that sentiment, I decided to make a wedding inspiration board fit for a princess.

It’s been a while since I last made an appearance. To tell the truth, I’ve dreaded writing these posts about the things that made my wedding leave a sour taste in my mouth. It can be hard to find the right words to explain all my feelings. Not to mention that writing about my experience online could cause some… er… complications… with relatives/friends who disappointed me and a few vendors with outstanding contractual duties.
But I’m going to take a shot at it anyways. This isn’t about them and I deserve to vent about my wedding so I can finally move on.
*Deep breath* Okay, here goes. Gosh, where do I start? Well, for what it’s worth, everything seemed fine until about a week out from the wedding. In fact, it wasn’t until I was in Savannah that things began to unravel. Most of the things that went wrong before the wedding were a direct result from my poor planning.
The mess we made at my SIL’s house with all my wedding stuff.

A week already! Time really does fly when you’re getting married. So fast that I didn’t even get around to writing my “signing off” post. (BTW, big congrats to my wedding date twin, MRS. Cloud!)
I have looked forward to my wedding day for not only the past 11 months, but also my entire life. I was definitely that little girl who grew up dreaming of her perfect wedding day. Very few details in my actual planning process differed from what I had always imagined my wedding day would be as a little girl…
That is, with one big exception: the way I feel now that it’s over.
