Last Entry Before We Tie the Knot

April 14th, 2006 @ 8:20 am by Miss Ladybug

This is my last entry before my wedding.

I’ll take as many pictures as I can. I have bags under my eyes from sleeping less than 10 hours in the past 3 days. No I did not make my cookies. I had no time. Oh well.

Secret Surprise for guests: Bubble Tea Bar - Strawberry (my favorite) / Black Tea (Mr. Ladybug’s Favorite)

Wish me luck ladies! I’ll post maybe on Monday.

I is so tired I is.

Shoutout to: Bee, Pc1004n, and Aegie.
Thank you girls for your gifts, your advice, and just beeing there for me. Get it? BEEing? Ha Ha…ok I’m tired. Shut the fuck up. I’m getting married!

Flip Flops

April 7th, 2006 @ 2:02 pm by Miss Ladybug

This entry was inspired by Andreaonmon who seems to think that nobody reads her page. I read it!

There is no way in hells I’m wearing heels the whole day of the wedding. My heels are 4 inches man. I’m thinking just for the ceremony. I know a lot of girls order flips flops from My Glass Slipper and even Wedding Tennies but I think they’re overpriced. You’ll probably just wear them that one day. I ordered mine for $11 bucks at Victoria’s Secret. Suh-weet! No beads, I might put some beads on myself if I really want to throw in another DIY at the last minute.

Here are some others: (These range from $9 - $15)

Quick Update

April 7th, 2006 @ 10:37 am by Miss Ladybug

Unity Candles
Mr. Ladybug and I went and bought these at A.C. Moore. They were charging $25.00 for the unity candle and $8.00 for the tapered candles! I was like “Oh HELLS no!”

129_2915

So they had a candle section where we bought plain candles. We got the middle one for $3.50 and the plain tapered ones for $1.48 each. They were also charging $35.00 for the unity candle holder set but we bought ours in the glass dept there separately. The tapered holders were $3.98 each and the wide candle holder was $3.29.

What a deal, what a deal! I brought them home and put ribbons around them left over from the centerpiece project. Took me 20 minutes baby! I went shopping a while back and that’s when I bought the beaded accents for $2 bucks and some change.

My friend Ji Won came shopping with me a while back and that’s when I bought the beaded accents for $2 bucks and some change. Remember I didn’t know what I was going to do with them and you said “maybe for the unity candles?” and I did! I did taw a putty cat! You’re such a smart hooch. I heart you heifer.

Backdrop
I also took a trip to Ikea this week to look for more large tealights for my centerpieces. They burn for 10 hours whereas the little ones only burn for 4. Anyways while I was there I was looking around the fabric area and I found these drapes. I love them because of the vintage look so I’m thinking about using this as a backdrop as well. Not sure if I should use the other one that my sister got for me originally. What do you think?

Bird Cage
I also want to do a bird cage card holder to hold all the cards that our guests bring so Mr. Ladybug and I found this at Home Goods. I’m going to spray paint it brown but keep the green accents. I love it. I love anything vintage! I’ll post up more photos once I’m done.

Stamps
I also received my stamps from Stampworx to make my programs this weekend. I’ll post up photos once I’m done those as well.

Vintage Flowers

April 6th, 2006 @ 3:25 pm by Miss Ladybug

Yesterday I broke out of work a little early to head to Tinsel Trading Company on 38th Street. My sister suggested it to me knowing that I was looking for flower pins for the back of the flower girl dresses.

I love this store. There’s something about it that reminds me of the countryside / Anthropologie. They have beautiful vintage flowers so they’re a little pricier than what you would normally find because of the fabric they use. They also close at 5:30 so plan on leaving work a tad bit earlier than usual.

So I finally settled on these…

Josie!

April 6th, 2006 @ 1:13 am by Miss Ladybug

Her mom made her try on her dress and it fits! She’s such a cutie. I can’t wait to see her and shower her with affection! She’s sooo cute I just wanna bite her cheeks!!! There’s a sweetness about her that I adore.

I love you pookie! I can’t wait to see you. I miss you a lot!

I can honestly say I’m addicted to her. When she comes to visit and then leaves, I go through what my sister and I call “Josie Withdrawal” where I talk about her for weeks to anyone who will listen and call more than ususal just to hear her babble.

A while back, I think it had been 3 months since I’d seen her and Mr. Ladybug knew that I missed her a lot so he flew my ass out to Boston to see her. He said that he’s gonna fly me out there in a few months to see her again. Woohoo! Thanks baby!

Our Wedding Song

April 5th, 2006 @ 11:51 am by Miss Ladybug

We decided that whatever song we picked we had to both agree on it no matter what. I picked Ain’t That A Kick In The Head by Dean Martin. It’s different, it’s not cheesy slow, and the lyrics are fun yet appropriate for the occasion.

Mr. Ladybug wanted I Do by Nick Lachey. Yeah. Ish don’t tink sho! He calls me up yesterday and goes “I got it! What about this song?” I said “It’s perfect hun.” Minus Billy Idol of course. Yes it’s short. Maybe we play it twice?

Grow Old With You ~ Adam Sandler (From the soundtrack The Wedding Singer)

I wanna make you smile,
Whenever you’re sad.
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad.
All I wanna do, Is grow old with you

I’ll get you medicine,
When your tummy aches.
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks.
It would be so nice, Growin’ old with you

I’ll miss you, kiss you
Give you my coat when you are cold.
Need you, feed you.
I’ll even let you hold the remote control

So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink
Put you to bed when you’ve had too much to drink
Oh I could be the man, Who grows old with you

I wanna grow old with you.

My Best Friend’s Wedding - 5/21/05

April 4th, 2006 @ 3:30 pm by Miss Ladybug

One of my best friends Shawnie got married last year and her wedding was so much fun! This was the dress that she picked - a beautiful Barbra Allin.

bride

The dress below was “the” dress that she passed on - a Reem Acra. I think it’s called the “Good Luck” dress. It was gorgeous! I went with her when she tried it on and I cried. She looked amazing! You know that it’s the IT dress when one of your friends start crying. I think I gasped. I felt like a lesbian. Hahaha…

bride2

She was very emotional from the rehearsal dinner the night before up until when her sister gave a toast. I remember during the rehearsal dinner her father wanted to give her “something old.” So he whips out this coin and before anyone could speak she started crying, her sister started crying, Young (bridesmaid) started crying but she was only crying cause she saw Shawnie crying. You wus.

When Shawnie’s father first opened shop when he came to America, a customer gave him that coin and told him that it would bring him luck. He’s had it ever since. I felt like a boy ’cause I think I was the only girl there not crying.

Anyways, the next day Shawnie looked beautiful. I was truly so happy to be there. I wish I took more photos of her in her dress so you guys can see how beautiful it was, but I was busy that day.

This is an old entry that I had on my personal blog that I thought I’d share with you guys.

Shoes: Stuart Weitzman (wedding gift from her sister)

Their wedding was beautiful. This was actually the best wedding I’ve been to - it was just so much fun. The weather was perfect, the place was perfect, and alcoholic friends were just right. Here are some photos from the rehearsal and ceremony.

Makeup Trial

April 3rd, 2006 @ 10:58 am by Miss Ladybug

Here I am waiting for Robert to start. I still have on the makeup that I went to work with that morning. He’s gay, he’s black, and he’s fab! Why am I breaking out? Whyieee!?

After shots. I think I look like a clown. I hear Barbara Streisand singing that song to me and I want to scream out “Here I am!” I’m gonna ask for less eye shadow and a little bit more liner and maybe a little less blush. Not sure yet, but I’m definitely using him.

Don’t judge him cause of the eye shadow thing. I asked him to try the smokey eye look on me and then I found out that it’s not me. 8 (
