About Me: I love artistic pursuits of all sorts! I'm creative and organized, but my downfall is obsessing over details. I enjoy running outdoors, trying new restaurants, and staring at décor and wedding magazines for hours on end. I hope to one day design a hotel in a foreign country, preferably France, Greece, Japan, or Australia. I am elated to marry Mr. Licorice and experience life’s adventures with him!
Because I strolled in asking for plywood, screws, and drill bits. What would some little girl want with those things? Well, I’ll show you.
One of my DIY projects came directly from Southern Weddings, a book with which I have an unhealthy obsession. The front of my reception hall was rather bare looking. To spruce it up, I (all on my own) constructed these trays to hang and hold candles.

I wanted to share a little bit about my bridal shower. It was held at my aunt’s house and was thrown my by best friend/sorority sister/bridesmaid. Naturally, it featured some good ol’ southern food: pimento cheese sandwiches!

More paper stuff!
In addition to ceremony programs, I decided to DIY butler cards, place cards, menu cards, table numbers, and the guest book. To keep things simple, I made personalized menu cards that doubled as place cards. Each menu card had only what each guest ordered on the invitation reply card, and were color coded to reduce confusion for the caterers. It worked out great!

This was one of the most time consuming projects! I only say that because I had to redo the inner sheet that contained all the information. Teehee. That’s all. You think I would have learned not to do so much during those hours after midnight from this b00-b00!
Initially, I had a tough time deciding on how I wanted the programs to look.

Okay, ladies. Time to spill it. What pet names do you and your fiance/husband have for each other?
I’ll go first.
Mr. Licorice now calls me “wifey.” I call him “lovey.”

I’ve been pretty busy setting up our new apartment (and dealing with the Financial Aid department at school, bleh), so I haven’t gotten around to blogging about DIY fun. Thus, I am taking the easy way out; here are some non-pro wedding pics:

Hey y’all! I’m back from Paris, and I see there is a flurry of activity at the hive! I can’t wait to read all the posts I missed!
As for the wedding, it was truly the most wonderful day of my life. The day started out cloudy and gray, but by mid-afternoon, the sun had come out to play. The cool breeze added a certain zest to the evening, and all of my guests told me they had a great time!
Since I didn’t have time to post about all things DIY and some general awesomeness before the wedding, I had planned on sharing some of my little projects when I got back. However, my amazing photographer, Heidi Geldhauser of Our Labor of Love, sent me a little present via e-mail: teaser pics! I thought I might save them for later, but F’ that!

This past weekend was INSANE! My bachelorette party was Saturday night with my bridal shower following the very next day. I’ll share my bachelorette party in this post. (Please don’t read this at work. There is a suprise at the end.)
It all started with the invitation that included this poem:
Something saucy or something sexy will get you in the door-
At the Hyatt Place Buckhead and on the hoppin’ floor-
Before they seal it with a kiss or before he lifts her veil-
The girls will gather one more time to raise some fun and hell-
So, gather quickly - stand by her side and as you lift your glass-
The crystal will cling, the ring will bling, and we’ll be toasting to her finding permanent-
Love.
Needless to say, I came ready to party:
