Doesn’t everything seem wedding related when you are planning your own wedding? Well my own wedding planning is a thing of the past, but Weddingbee keeps my passion/obsession alive and well.
Heck, I watched the season finale of Lost, and got the most excited when I realized the location where they shot Sun and Jin’s wedding was our own Mrs. Sushi’s ceremony venue! Then I proceeded to make a comment to Mr. Lovebird about how Sun’s dress was gorgeous, especially the back… he was not amused.
But that’s not the only TV wedding to happen this year. There seemed to be plethora of weddings this season.

Isn’t this cake beautiful?
Can you believe it’s made of cheese??? Miss D’orsay mentioned these in her post a couple of weeks ago. The trend started a few years ago in England, and is becoming quite popular in the U.S.

I have to admit, I didn’t put much thought into the ceremony itself. About one week before the wedding, I asked my brother to officiate the wedding. It was kind of short notice, and I didn’t give him much direction, except a link to Mrs. Penguin’s post for some ideas. He also lives in Miami, so he couldn’t run anything by me until we met up in Cancun two days before the wedding day. While we were in Cancun, he was always saying, “Can we go over the ceremony together?” I was always preoccupied with something else, like making sure all my guests we happy, eating, etc… I kept telling my brother, “Don’t worry, it’ll be great, you don’t have to run anything by me, I trust you.”

I always tell Mr. Lovebird that the only features of his that I am jealous of are his long, plush eyelashes. Albeit, his droop down naturally to cover his tiny Asian eyes, but if I had those puppies, I would certainly make them shine! The first things I notice about a person are their eyelashes. I’ve got crazy lash envy. Heck, I’m even especially jealous of babies who all seem to have more plush lashes than I do!
That being said, I always knew fake lashes were a must for my wedding day!
Now that the wedding is over, it doesn’t mean my lash envy has ended. I saw something on TV yesterday that piqued my interest, and I thought other lash-challenged ladies around the hive would find it interesting.
What is it you ask?

Now that the weather is warming up, it’s about time this little birdie got her feathery tush in gear and resumed her recaps!
I’m sure every girl thinks about what it would be like to walk down the aisle with the love their life waiting at the end of it. Well, this is how it went for me.
Man I loved the train of my dress. It was actually one of my favorite parts of the dress.

Our lovely bridesmaids were the next to come down the red carpet after the groomsmen. I now present to you our lovely ladies in waiting…
I’m truly wowed by all the “secrets” my fellow sister bees have revealed. I’ve literally been racking my brain for days thinking about something interesting about me that I could write about… I apologize in advance if my so-called secrets aren’t as interesting/fun as the others.
1. When I enjoy something, be it a TV show or a certain type of food, I obsess over it. One of my biggest obsessions was with the show “FRIENDS”. I had posters in my room, the soundtrack, sheet music to “I’ll Be There For You” by the Rembrandts, official merchandise like baby-tees, mugs, and buttons I bought from the Warner Bros. Store (those closed down right?), the DVDs, magazines they happened to be on the covers of, my screen saver, my computer wallpaper, my AIM icon…
The obsession for the show started in junior high and lasted all the way up to college. My bridesmaid, Michelle, loves to tell the story of how during our sophomore year of college, we had just moved in to together as roommates and the season premiere of FRIENDS was on. Ten minutes into the “The One After “I Do”“, the fire alarm went off.

The time finally came for the wedding to start!
First up were the grandparents, unfortunately, I don’t have any professional pictures of my grandparents.
But it’s okay, I have their entrance on video.
Then it was time for Mr. Lovebird’s Mom escorted by Mr. Lovebird’s cousin, Kevin.

When we finally got the call from Gaby, our wedding coordinator, that they were ready for us, I must say, I got a little nervous. I remember walking out of my suite and thinking, I can’t believe it’s actually happening…
Man, I wish I could remember what we were laughing about here… although now I’m thinking, Tina, stop touching your boob! J/k… don’t kill me…
At the end of last year, I blogged about this interesting movie in the works called Bride Wars. Time really flies because it’s coming out soon!
Who’s excited to see this movie? I know I am!

Since I got a call from our wedding coordinator that they weren’t ready for me yet, Vincent and I snuck off to my balcony to take some bridal portraits.
So I got the most interesting call last week from Mommy Lovebird. She calls and says, “I have Daddy Lovebird on the line.” (Daddy Lovebird is in China, by the way.) So Daddy Lovebird goes, “Hi honey, how are you? We planned your wedding banquet for the 3rd.” I’m like, “What?” ::
:: Daddy Lovebird repeats himself, “We planned your wedding banquet for the 3rd… your Mom is going to fly back for it.” Then it slowly begins to hit me… “Oh… okay?”
When I first started planning our wedding, I thought I was going to have three “weddings”. My destination wedding in Cancun with my friends and family, my New York reception which would include those people who couldn’t make it to Cancun, and the sea of people that were the “friends” of my parents and family. People I probably met at one point or another in my life, but surely don’t remember the name of, and people I was sure to be meeting for the first time. You see, in Chinese culture, the wedding banquet isn’t just about the bride and groom, it’s also about the family, parents, traditions and joining of families.
When my parents were speaking to my grandparents of picking an “auspicious” date for the NY wedding banquet, Grandma Lovebird was like, “you can’t have three wedding receptions!”

Mr. Lovebird and I got engaged exactly two years ago today in Cancun. Wow…. that seems like a whole lifetime ago. It was two years ago today that Mr. Lovebird and I took the “plunge” and started a new chapter in our lives. And I sit here today, in awe of how much our life has changed since then… literally in awe… the excitement, the tragedy, the obstacles and triumphs…. basically all the joys and crap life likes to throw our way sometimes. And 11 weeks ago, THAT day finally came…
