Wedding Day Part I: The Girls Getting Ready
Wedding Day Part II: The Boys Getting Ready
It turns out it wasn’t just the wedding party who was busy getting ready.

I remember looking out at the ceremony site at about 5PM and it was empty.
Wedding Day Part I: The Girls Getting Ready
Please accept my apologies as I’ve been a bad little birdie! The very day after I posted the first recap, we closed and moved into the “Love(bird) Nest” and I’ve pretty much been running around with my head chopped off the last couple of weeks. What do you say, hive, do you forgive the little lovebird? As a token of my sincerity, I offer to you the pro-pics of the boys getting ready the day of the wedding. I believe most of these pictures were taken by our second shooter, Christian of del Sol Photography. Keep in mind I’ve known all these fellas since we were in high school, so I will take every liberty to embarrass them while I can.

It was all because of Weddingbee that I caught the DIY bug. I must give it up to my fellow bees as they have countlessly inspired and motivated me to add a personal touch to as many wedding projects as time and my abilities allowed.
After seeing so many amazing photo table numbers on Weddingbee, such as those of Mrs. Emerald, Mrs. Lovebug, and Mrs. Tiramisu to name a few, and since I had so many amazing pictures from Scott Robert’s workshop, I tried my hand at making my own table numbers.
Don’t you love how DIY projects evolve as you do them? I actually ended up not using the ribbon and paper flowers because I thought it distracted from the images.

I didn’t put too much thought into what our guests should throw at us after we walked down the aisle for the first time as man and wife. I was actually going to do nothing at all. Being on a cliff by the ocean, I did know that if we were to do something, we would take our surroundings into consideration. That being said, bubbles were the perfect solution!
While Mr. Lovebird and I were browsing Michael’s for some last minute DIY craft supplies, on pure impulse, I picked up a box of party bubbles and a bottle of paper flowers. I wasn’t a fan of the bottles with the novelty tops and decided I would spruce up the plain bottles myself. When I got home, I grabbed leftover ribbon in our wedding colors and my box of glue dots and got to work.

Because I’m uber excited about the NYC Weddingbee Meetup tonight, I’m going to give you readers a special treat even though I was planning on posting about the DIY projects leading up to the wedding before posting any pro-pics. Enjoy and I’ll hopefully see some of you tonight!

To go along with the laid back attitude of a destination wedding, never did I consider the idea of making up and writing down a timeline for the day. My mental timeline was this: 2pm - hair and makeup at the Dreams Cancun Spa and 5pm - showtime aka when the wedding ceremony was supposed to start. Looking back, a timeline would have helped!
Considering all of our 90+ guests were all flying to Cancun for our wedding, we knew our OOT bags were not going to be an easy task.
First off, we had to decide on how big we actually wanted to make these babies, keeping in mind that we would have to transport them all the way down to Mexico. Initially, I was all about the canvas totes; then I realized we would have a hard time trying to fill them all considering we are staying at an all-inclusive resort. Bottles of water and anything your heart desires to drink is provided for at the resort. Not to mention there was no way in hell I was transporting bottles of water to Mexico! The resort is also all you can eat, so there was no need to load them with too many snacks. The hotel also provided all the toiletries you could ever need, including sunblock so we were left with only a few options.
I must have spent weeks deciding on which bags to buy. I eventually settled on these 7 1/4″ x 2″ x 7″ foam bags from Oriental Trading. I was expecting something more, but they served their purpose. There was no way we were bringing 90+ bags to Cancun, so I decided on getting 3 dozen bags. It came out to about one per family/room.

I thought I’d share this with the hive cuz I know how much you ladies love boobies. I just got a call from Mr. Lovebird who basically surfs the web all day looking for bargains when he’s not studying his medical books. He told me there was a deal going on for the Natural Bra and I bought four of those babies at GraveyardMall for $4.99 each!
Yea, I know I don’t need them for our wedding since it has already passed, but I bought four of these babies a few years back and they were quite handy when I used them for my TTD in NYC. Can you say, “Holy Boobage, Batman!”

I’m back!!! Sorry for the hiatus, the weeks leading up the wedding were hectic, and I was only allowed to get 15 minutes of internet a day in Cancun. I was back in NY for one day and then jetted off to Venice for our honeymoon cruise around the Mediterranean. Internet on the cruise costs an arm and a leg, so I’m glad to finally be back on land and back home!

But man, I’ve missed you guys! Just wanted to say a quick hello and offer a little teaser for your enjoyment. My pro pics are on their way to me as we speak, so I have lots in store! As soon as I get settled, I promise to blog up a storm!
For the first time,
Mrs. Lovebird
Man I have missed you guys. This must be the longest I have been away from Weddingbee in like 2 years. I apologize in advance if I sound a little funny - I am trying to get used to this Mexican keyboard and have yet to figure out where the apostrophe button is, and I am trying to write this out in the 15 minutes of internet I am allotted a day at this hotel.
The last couple of weeks have been hectic. I found out our wedding coordinator at Dreams Cancun quit like a week and a half before the wedding. Yea… not so fun. I have lots of DIYs I have to post about, so I have lots in store! Of course, there is also the wedding! This will probably be my last entry before I walk down the aisle and I just wanted to say thank you all for coming along for the ride!
See you on the flip side!

Before I headed into work this morning, Mr. Lovebird and I went to the City Clerk’s Office in Queens and got our marriage license!
(warning: Sex and the City spoiler alert below)
I wish I got to spend more time with the husband and wife team of Teresa and Tedd of Lucid Eyes during Scott Robert’s workshop. It doesn’t surprise me that they are from Texas, cuz they are smoking hot! And I am totally digging their style. Check it out!
What can I say, I’m a procrastinator! With about two weeks until the wedding, Mr. Lovebird and I finally booked our honeymoon! We are taking an 8 Night Greek Isles And Turkey Cruise on Royal Caribbean!
I have to the give the boy props cuz I basically said, “You figure it out.”

I’ll be getting my make-up done for my Cancun wedding by someone at the Spa at Dreams Cancun, but man how I wish I could fly Jennifer down to do my hair and makeup! At least I can still use her for our NY reception.
I thought I’d kill two birds with one stone by getting my hair and make-up trial the day of my TTD session.
I was so excited I totally forgot to take a before shot. But here’s how I look normally without makeup:
I actually had my bridal shower a few weeks back, but I was waiting to get all the pictures before I posted. My bridesmaids threw me the most wonderful bridal shower ever!!!

We got to meet so many amazing and fun photographers during Scott Robert’s NYC Workshop. One of them was Stephen Ng from California!
Stephen was such a pleasure to work with and Mr. Lovebird and I were amazed by the photos he took. I’ll let his work speak for itself…
