Mr. LB and I have declared today the unofficial kickoff to our haunted Ireland honeymoon. We’re going to wear green and drink Guinness every day from now until our departure. And the Cranberries are going to release a new album and Jonathan Rhys Myers is going to give me private soccer lessons…
Back in the real world, we have genuine cause to celebrate extra hard tonight. We’ve booked a full 57.83% (more or less) of the honeymoon! This is Mr. Lovebug’s department, and I don’t know too many details, but he’s been sending me links of our “hotel” stays as he books them.

If I knew nothing else going into this wedding (what do you mean if, Lovebug?), I knew I wanted to wear my hair down. I’ve just never been an up-do kinda gal. Add to that the fact that medieval queens wore their hair down and loose for their weddings (I love me some medieval queens, I do), and I’m sold.
So yesterday I had playtime with my BSF (best stylist forever) Jamie at Gadabout salon. I communicated the look I wanted by flashing gang signs in the mirror:
…though, of course, there are still a couple weeks left.
Totally existential, in a Suessian sort of way. Anyone else get any entertaining reply cards?

Create the honeymoon of your dreams.
I’ve been spending some time looking for ceremony readings lately. I’ve found some beautiful pieces, but it seemed like there was something missing. I didn’t know what it was, really. I just knew there was something I wanted to express to Mr. LB, but couldn’t find captured anywhere. So I sat down and wrote it myself.
To frame it, all you have to know (and that which you might know already) is that I’m a big, wordy, too-well-read-for-her-own-good geek, who sometimes can unintentionally come off uppity about her educational background. That, and the subject of romance - and romantic gestures - is one of some sensitivity between us. As in, every so often I become convinced that Mr. Lovebug isn’t being enough of a knight in shining armor and needs to take Wooing 101. Sometimes I’m right about this…and sometimes I’m wrong. Funny how that works. 
I want Mr. Lovebug to know, though, that he shows me his love in the every day domesticity of our life together. That while I sometimes give him a hard time about not being the guy that springs opera tickets and champagne while on a sunset hot air balloon ride, at the end of the day, I know he treasures me. The little things, you know? And I wanted something that captures OUR little things, specifically.

When I blogged about our invitations, I mentioned that our printer had the idea of having the calligraphy done in mimicry of the font we used. But until I looked closer, I had no idea just how perfectly she managed this. I just thought we had spectacularly pretty calligraphy:

I had entirely too much fun making those spoof bridal motivational posters, boy howdy. Methinks, in fact, that they could be used as fun table signs at a super casual wedding, or maybe a rehearsal dinner. Just round up your photographic out takes, theme them with marriage-minded ideals, and voila. Bridal comedy!

Ah, the joy of the first registry purchase. That buoyant balloon of delight…quickly burst by the realization of the need for thank you cards.Since we took the fancy schmancy train to Invitesville via letterpress, we wanted to do something more casual and relaxed for our thank yous. And personalized. Personalized is the name of the game. So in a spin off of a Martha idea, and with our “Sweetest Type of Love” theme as inspiration, we came up with some dorky, squinty picture postcards:
Insomnia + South Carolina Wedding Blog + MotiFake generator site = the following bridal motivational poster spoofs. (And how much fun would it be to create these with your own wedding pics?!)
There needs to be some sort of end-zone dance for brides. Something we can bust into when, say, the first item on our registry has been purchased.
So cool! So exciting! So let’s dance, shall we? I’m picturing a cross between the hustle and the Rockafella Skank. One grand nation of blissful brides, boogying around our kitchens.
In a related story, I’m clearly becoming a spoiled bee-bride, what with all the material stuff and presents a-flowing around me lately. Will try to shape up and become more thoughtful and introspective bee-bride again.
Now, back to dancing.
A fellow bee wrote recently about the curious way in which wedding purchases spawn other purchases. Ah, too well do I know this phenomenon. I try, however, to steer my extraweddicular spending in a useful direction. Cute passport covers are useful, right?
There’s nothing like Etsy for cheaply cute-ifying your travel ensemble! All these handmade covers are between $9 and $15. These two are Stamps and Blue Love.

We just booked our first class airfare to London!!! (For the record, this is the first time in my life I’ve broken my “one exclamation mark is enough” rule. Forgive me, fellow punctuation sticklers. I believe the excessive emphasis is merited.)
