As Miss Jasmine has shown us, Indian culture is incredibly rich, colorful, and vibrant. Last summer, one of my best friends married his beautiful wife with a 4-day long celebration full of Indian traditions and lively dancing. I’ll share some details of the Gujurati garba-raas event, which took place the night before their ceremony and reception. It was amazing to watch and even more exhilarating to be a part of!
“Something Pink is a three-day wedding gown sale and fundraiser hosted by Brides magazine and Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation. The event will feature a wide range of favorite designers selling at amazingly affordable prices. This is your chance to find a fabulous gown for your wedding, and help grant wishes for terminal breast cancer patients.”

The event takes place October 4-6th at 122 West 26th Street between 6th and 7th Avenue.

I thought you animal lovers out there would adore this novelty… Floral puppies! Perhaps the perfect accessory for a flowergirl or ring bearer?

IV. The Mysterious Album and How to Get One
Although many of these album companies do not sell directly to the public, some are willing to do so. It doesn’t hurt to ask, especially if you seem easy to work with.
Sometimes, the professionals underestimate us brides. I never needed to contact my album-maker’s customer service at all, save once to ask for their price list. Perhaps, in time, album companies will realize that brides are resourceful and competent customers, and they will be happy to have our business. ![]()
I also wanted to mention that most of these albums are not cheap. Furthermore, the companies will probably charge you higher than the wholesale photographer’s rate. But shop around for a few price lists and see what fits into your budget. In my opinion, a high quality album is the best way to present and preserve your wedding memories. For me, it was worth the price.

Having a high quality album was very important to us. We consider it to be our first family heirloom. In the far future, the 4×6 photos will be curled and discolored in a dusty box, and even the JPEG files and DVD video will be obsolete due to technological advancements. But our album will last for generations and be enjoyed by generations of our family to come.
After researching dozens of different album companies, I finally decided on Pictobook.

When I first started our album design, I had no idea what I was doing.
I know I mentioned that Mr. Ant and I worked on our high school yearbook together, but the truth is we hardly knew a thing about current layout and publishing methods. Our yearbook club cropped photos by hand and used a dinosaur-age layout software. (Public school pride, baby!)
So, like I said. Noooo idea what I was doing. Until…
