One of the talented photographers I got to work with was Fred Egan. He was actually born in the same city as me (Taipei), is now located in Dallas, and could easily pass for a hip New Yorker with his funky hair.

I spent my Halloween running around downtown Manhattan in full wedding gear with 8 photographers following me. For me, it was quiiite the experience! For the photographers, it was just another day of Jessica Claire and Liana Lehman’s Xtreme Seminar. (The seminar is like an intense boot camp for wedding photographers, and I was just a bride who volunteered to “model” for them.)

For the first portion of my Bachelorette weekend, my girls organized a private class at Exotic Dance Central for all of us!

We are almost done with wedding planning! In fact, we’ve finished ordering everything we need for the wedding, right down to the little details (like bags with labels for the petal toss) and peripheral items (like bridesmaid gifts, vendor thank-you cards, and Avon Skin-so-soft Bug Guard). On top of that, pretty much everything is ready to go (luminary edges scalloped- check; ceremony programs assembled- check).…

Yesterday, I stumbled upon a wedding scene being filmed for a movie!

At first, I wondered if I was hallucinating… Perhaps after a year and a half of non-stop planning and fantasizing about weddings, I’d become so far gone that I was now imagining some sort of wedding mirage.

For a long time, I was obsessed with achieving the perfect bridal look for my wedding. I learned about and purchased a lot of beauty supplies- foundation, powder, blush, eyeliner, eyeshadow, lipstick, false eyelashes … you name it!

When I finally tried a couple makeup trials on myself, I learned a few things:

1. I’m no good at applying any of the trickier products (eyeliner, false eyelashes, uhh…

from the hottest bachelorette party ever!

A mosaic I sent to my friends - the letters are made of various things I received/ wore throughout the weekend.

I am sore, bruised, and still recovering…

This beautiful silk dress is the chipao that my mother wore to her wedding reception many many years ago.

I considered wearing it to my own reception. But, unfortunately, the dress is a bit too snug. (It “fits”.. but I can’t move. Or breathe, really.)

So… I decided to incorporate the floral design in our ceremony programs!

Do you ever feel too tired/ stressed out/ sick of planning to get all excited about your wedding?

When I first saw all those wedding portraits with parasols, I thought they were pretty cheesy. But after learning that some of these outdoor photo sessions can take up to an hour or two in the scorching sun, I can appreciate their practical benefits!
