The other night I was checking out FW Forum’s Weekly Favorites and noticed this groom’s cake.
The whole groom’s cake has a DVD player attached playing the Texas Longhorns’ victory over USC for the national championship. ![]()
Wow. How could one eat that? It’s just so elaborate.

It’s been almost 2 months since my wedding and I am still visiting Weddingbee (this has now become an addiction) at least ten times a day. I’m still anxiously waiting for our wedding video from our videographer.
But in the meantime, just to reminice back, I’ll scroll through my IPhotos, visit our wedding website gallery, and read my postings.
After reading my final wedding posts, I realized I never posted a photo of my wedding cake. Last night Mr. Apple and I caved in and cut ourselves a big chunk of our wedding cake. I know it’s bad luck to eat it before one year, but man it tasted so good even 2 months later!
This is what we ate minus the pretty flowers. ![]()
Funny moment : Momma Apple came up to me letting me know that we should eat the cake now since it’s melting and starting to collapse. Though you really can’t tell from the photos, it was a Mad Hatter Cake.

The two most challenging parts of wedding planning for me were: finding jewelry and finding a makeup artist. Sure, I could have just visited a makeup artist at any makeup counter, or Macy’s or Nordstroms to find the latest in fashion jewelry. Well, call me picky but I was extremely particular in wanting my earrings and necklace to match all three of my dresses. But, six months into my wedding planning I found the right jewelry. Cool.
Two months left to my wedding day and I had no makeup artist booked. I had two makeup trials that went eh, so so. One of the reasons why I hate wearing foundation is that I always get ”itchy face” once it’s on for 15 minutes. My pores need to breathe! And after both makeup trials at Laura Mercier and Chanel, my face started itching. I specifically told them not to add too much foundation, but they just kept caking it on like butter. I was happy with the rest of the makeup application (eyes, lips, and cheeks). But once I stepped out of the mall and saw my face in natural light - my face was orange! Ack!
I thought I would pass this website along to those Weddingbee readers who are still searching for the right photographer. The Foundation Workshop Forum is made up of talented photographers worldwide that can help you capture your day. All you have to do is fill out an inquiry request and any available photographers will respond back to you asap! It’s super easy and free of charge! Genius. What a great resource for brides.
This month’s featured photographer is Leigh Miller. They also have showcases of the best images from week to week. These are some I found from this week:

Just when I thought it was safe to finish up my weddingbee posts, I received these gorgeous floral photos from Huy. Miss Plum and company did an amazing job on the day of. I came into the restaurant a little early not expecting her to be there to set up yet, but she was almost done when I arrived! Man, I was floored!Â
She and her crew replicated what I had envisioned for my centerpieces from start to finish. My bouquet smelled so good and the flowers looked so fresh. I loved my MOH’s bouquet too - it made me wish I could have two bouquets instead of just one! After seeing Mrs. Ladybug’s bouquet wrap, I had to have one of my own! Miss Plum was also able to replicate the exact boutonniere from Mrs. Firefly’s wedding. I love berries so I thought this would be perfect - simple and cost efficient yet cute! Personally, I love how it looked in the photos. A nice pop of green!
You know what else was a nice pop of color? My bouquet. I had a really hard time envisioning a really green bouquet (my first bouquet color request) with my raspberry and spotted guinea hairpin so I decided it would be best to just stick with one color - some shade of red. Miss Plum suggested the red peony (correct me if I’m wrong Miss Plum) and I completely trust her taste so we were good to go! The color of my bouquet in person and in photos was so striking.
Wow! I knew Huy was a fantabulous photographer but I never knew how popular he was in the Weddingbee community. Per requests, here are some more great shots.
The rain didn’t go away and neither did those damn mosquitos. But what a great photo op!

Professional pictures in by Huy and his assistant Courtney. They did an amazing job and we’re so happy we hired them for our wedding. I don’t think anyone else could have captured the kind of style that we wanted. While sifting through our photos yesterday, his photos made me point and laugh at them. He really took us back in time to relive all the funny and candid moments. Here are some cool ones.
Our wedding day began with a little bit of rain but it ended beautifully by night. Actually, in all honesty the reception went by so fast I barely remember any details other than the speeches, the highlight of the evening. Beautiful speeches read by Mr. Apple, our Best Man Lee, and Maid of Honor Susan. We’ve gotten so much wonderful feedback from our guests, they especially loved the speeches. Both Mr. Apple and I wrote up a speech but he’s a much better speaker than I so he was given this responsibility. Not a very difficult responsbility since he wasn’t at all nervous. Here are some photos and a small snippet of each speech….
“Good Evening everyone, I hope everyone is enjoying themselves so far this evening. Mrs. Apple and I would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to those who have helped us along the way.”
“To Mrs. Apple’s mom, it’s so nice to know I can now call you ‘Mom’.”
“Mrs. Apple and I would like to thank you for your love and support. Coming to America 30 years ago was not easy for you. With barely a grade school education, your inner strength, determination and drive led you to create many successful businesses. You’ve done so much good not only for your family but also for your extended family and friends. You continue to inspire us. We love you. ”
People kept mentioning to us that it was such a romantic ceremony - the garden, flowers, music, Mr. Apple and my expressions. I can’t wait to see our wedding video because I definitely didn’t notice any of that. ![]()
