I met up with a friend who I haven’t seen in ages (6 months or so) a few weeks ago, and she mentioned that I am “glowing”.
Huh? Glowing? But I’m not pregnant? People “glow” when they’re pregnant, right?
Maybe it’s the “I am going to be married glow?”
Did you receive any comments like that?

….I agreed.
You see, Mr. Apple is a huge Lord of the Rings fan. He has the LOTR Trilogy Series on dvd. He also received this leather bound LOTR 50th Anniversary Edition book from me a few years back for Christmas. So after seeing a LOTR post awhile back from Miss Blueberry, he suggested why not have towns from LOTR as our table “numbers”.
With these unique and somewhat difficult town names, we thought it would be a better idea to include photos of fruits - for those older guests whose English isn’t so good. I even used some Asian fruits like the rambutan and lychee. I actually thought of doing different varieties of apples since I am Miss Apple! But I realized most guests wouldn’t even get it since they don’t read WB, plus apple variaties are so close in color and shape that people wouldn’t be able to distinguish between the apples. At least from the quick search I did on google.
I d-i-y’d the table names by using MS Word and printing them off my personal printer. The fruit images were downloaded from google images.
Miss Emerald posted this awhile back and I thought it was a great idea so I stole it! Haha… thanks Miss Emerald!
Except I won’t be using teddy bears, I’ll be using Marvel Comic’s Spiderman instead. My two nephews will be my ringbearers so I thought since they love Spiderman, why not just have them hold one. Plus, they can play with them post wedding. The practical side of Miss Apple again - recycle them if possible!
I tried to think of some Marvel Comics/Cartoon type toys that are green (my wedding color) but only a few popped out - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Green Lantern, The Hulk, Green Power Ranger, Robin has green shorts I think. They’re definitely not as cute as Spiderman. So I am going to gamble and hope that the bright color (red and blue) won’t clash too much. Besides, they’ll look so cute clutching onto Spiderman as they walk down the aisle.

Mr. Apple just purchased the Toyota Prius a few days ago and it kicks ass. These hybrid cars are the best thing since sliced bread! The Prius is basically like sitting inside a computer.
Though we have many fond memories cruising in his 1996 burgundy Toyota Camry with over 150,000 miles, a missing hubcap, and a broken door handle, it was time to part ways. It was on its last leg.
We definitely wanted to stick with Toyota because they are well made and reliable cars. It was a toss up between the Toyota Camry, Toyota Camry Hybrid, or the Toyota Hybrid Prius. We did a test drive with the Prius and were blown away by the hybrid system (half gas, half electric motor). I don’t know anyone who has a hybrid so I had no idea how environmentally helpful/fuel efficient these cars are. They cut emissions from 25% to 35% over even the most fuel efficient cars and have great gas mileage - approx 50-55 miles to the gallon!
So, back to my post. I’m excited that we’re using this as our getaway car. Our exit car back to our la casa - how exciting. We’re forgoing renting taxi cabs, or limos, or borrowing a relative’s luxery car. This is so Mr. Apple and Miss Apple - so nerdy, so economical, so green, so us.

For Mr. Apple and I music is key. We love to listen to a broad list of music genres from alternative, to jazz, country, blues, hard rock, r & b, pop, and classic rock. We’re working on a list right now and have a nice array of selected slow songs, but are having difficultly finding fast dance songs. His parents are quite conservative so no “shake your rump” songs would be appropriate. I think Mr. Apple informed me his aunts like to “cha cha,” so we’re using Michael Buble’s “Sway” as an alternative song.
We also have a couple of jazz musician friends (trumpet players) who are helping with our wedding song list.
Does anyone have any suggestions on great fast dance songs that are tame? HELP!
Here is a few of our songs on our wedding ipod list.

Without my knowledge and consent (ha), my sister and maid of honor planned a surprise bridal shower. I kind of had a stinking suspicision a couple of times, but wasn’t 100% sure. I even grilled Mr. Apple a few times - he says he thinks I work for the Chinese CIA cuz I’m so good at asking him 20 questions.
So surprise, surprise! I heard that they’ve been working on this for the past 2-3 months. It was held at Petit Fours located in West Village, Dallas. It’s a quaint little bakery that serves bite size pastries, chocolates, tarts, and treats. We had afternoon high tea service that served cucumber sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches, Roobias African Red Tea, and cranberry orange, strawberry marmalade, lemon curd and clotted cream scones, and a tray of assorted desserts:

I wasn’t 100% pleased with my first hair trial. I had envisioned a particular “hair look” for myself but couldn’t seem to relay the same vision to my hairstylist. She got pretty close but I just didn’t feel… she was the right one. So one point five months left before the big day, I had my second hair trial with Miriam E. Azary in Plano. I found her by searching online reviews and ratings - and she got a 9.7 out of 10 on Citysearch.
I really wanted a romantic, wispy, soft look (similar to my first trial below) with a low bun, but I didn’t like the front at all. I felt I was all face.
I received a phone call from my friend “Paul the baker” last week letting me know that he could no longer be my cake baker. He has this huge project/start up (non baking related) that he needs to concentrate on, and wrap up around the time of my wedding. I was disappointed to say the least… ok I was peeved that he would do this only 1.5 months away from the wedding day. But thinking back it’ll probably work out better for us in the end.
Amazingly “I was calm about it” says Mr. Apple. (high five high five) After discussing it with Mr. Apple, we agreed that we would hire someone who is experienced and confident that they could do the job without fail. I searched different bakeries within the area but nothing stood out. I remember stopping by Bridal Portfolio last year to look for wedding dresses, and they had this ginormous cake laid out for us to try. I think there was a bride who won a $5000 wedding dress then. Lucky girl.
So I tried some of the cake. Oh man oh man, it was good. I’m not too picky when it comes to cake because I am a carb lover. But you know cake tastes good when you eat 2-3 servings of it. That’s what I did.
One year ago yesterday Mr. Apple proposed to me. If it weren’t for it being on Easter Sunday, I would have completely forgotten. Mr. Apple forgot too. I don’t mind really. We’re both pretty bad remembering our anniversary or proposal date. We just passed our 4 year anniversary last month. No celebration. No biggie. I think we’re the kind of couple who accepts one another as is - no frills. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a girl and would like a nice dinner once in awhile. But if he decides not to do it, then I definitely won’t be throwing tantrums.
I think we’ll start "appreciating" the date more after we’re married. It will also fall on a holiday (Memorial Weekend) so there is no excuse for both of us to forget.
I found this cute proposal story on youtube. Look at the amount of work he put into the card!
1) I love the smell of playdo, even as an adult.
2) I have to wear a bra to sleep or else I feel naked.
3) I have dreams that I leave the house without shoes on.
4) I must eat every 2-3 hours except when I’m sleeping.
5) I like to people watch.
6) I don’t enjoy eating apples but I love apple juice.
For those brides who don’t feel comfortable in a poofy white wedding dress, these may be some great alternatives. I would so rock this outfit if I were a few years older. These could also work for Mother of the Bride dresses.

I found this vintage French wire photo scroll set on ebay. Very cute for reception tables or maybe even at the guestbook table. At $21.99/set, they’re a little pricey for me but maybe they will work for you!
