I was on such a roll, but somehow just haven’t managed to put up the last batch of my wedding photos. This is it! The grand finale — if you were wanting more Lily pictures, this will be your last chance, because after this there are no more to share!!! So enjoy our cocktail and reception pictures.
Most were taken by Sergio, but a few are from friends. Here goes — part 6 is cocktail hour… part 7 is the reception and will follow shortly.
After the ceremony we had a long cocktail hour. My Mom used to ask me what my dream wedding would be like and I always said, “I don’t care if it’s in a barn, as long as there is an open bar so everyone will be drunk, merry, and dance!” As you can see, the wedding was not in a barn (although our rehearsal dinner was!), but my other missions were more than accomplished.
Long story short(ened), below are pics of our cocktail tables. The cocktail hour was on the patio outside. The flowers are big bunches of baby’s breath in metal buckets. The runners are made from extra bridesmaid dress lining I ordered from Netbride (duh, so it matches perfectly — I am that weird).

I bought TONS of candles from Illuminations for our wedding. We had little hanging votives in the trees (darn there are no pics of that!) and hurricanes on each table next to the flower (hurricanes from Michaels, candles from Illuminations). Their candles were really nice and not so bad in price — if you have a coupon. So here’s one I just got in the mail:
Save $15 on a purchase of $60 or more
Code 999201315
Valid Aug 10-31st
And, hey, these hanging votives (although different from mine) are only $1!

Are you sick of us yet??? Hope not, because here are a million ceremony shots.

Our gorgeous programs were designed by Mr. Lily (sorry, I blacked out our names because I’m a freak like that):

I forgot to put in the pics of the bridal party before the ketubah signing — whoops. For some reason there are a lot more of the girls than the guys. Guess we’re just prettier. Ha!

These girls are too cool for school:

I am Jewish and Mr. Lily is Catholic, but we had a Jewish ceremony. Mr. Lily is not particularly religious and I felt more strongly about the customs of my religion than he did (although I am not exactly religious myself). Finding a rabbi who would marry us was no easy task, but in the end we found a very nice woman who gave us a lovely ceremony. Here are just a few pictures of our ketubah signing. This is for family and wedding party only. It’s when we sign the marriage contract. It was the most emotional part of our wedding and the only time I cried…

Us with our rabbi:

One of you lovely readers asked me for information about my bouquet. Let me begin by saying there is a funny, not-so-funny story about my bouquet.

Here are our awesome portraits! — thanks, Sergio!
This is the first time we saw each other:

No, Mrs. Lily is not dead… just hibernating. I know it has taken me WAY TOO LONG to get our wedding pics out to you all, but I am going to start right now!

OK, here goes:
Me, looking very 1950s with curlers in my hair:

It seems like I have been gone forever. The last few weeks of wedding planning were so hectic and then the wedding flew by faster than I could have ever imagined. When all was said and done…
I GOT MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My wedding was like a dream. Truly. My biggest hesitation in writing this blog was that it really makes it feel like it (the wedding) is all over… yet, all I want to do is experience everything all over again! People say that the day goes fast. I knew it would, but the whirlwind is more than I could ever accurately explain.
I stare so happily at my brand new wedding rings (I now wear two bands), and recall the day over and over and over in my mind. If there was a rewind button, I would jump at the chance to experience it again, because it really was such a special day.
Um, OK, here goes…
1) I like to burp.
2) I used to have purple hair (and occasionally hot pink)
3) I like to pee with the door open — too much information? Mrs. Bee said, weird and I think that qualifies.
4) Before we dated, I pulled a prank on Mr. Lily where I decorated the right-hand side of his car with porn (not alone, with a friend). He couldn’t see it and got pulled over by the cops. Oops.
5) The movie Miss Congeniality is like crack for me. It’s totally out of character, but I love that flick. I have seen it 5,783 times.
6) In college I won a burrito eating contest against a male friend. I didn’t feel too good afterwards, but dammit, I won!!!!!!!!!!
Mr. Lily and I are putting together lists of songs for the DJ to play. Granted he’ll slide in some of his own tunes, but we’re sort of type A so we wanted to have some measure of control. That and one DJ we met with said he loves to play, “Lady in Red” which was a red flag to both of us who hate that song (sorry if I’ve offended anyone who likes it…).
Are any of you all doing the same thing? If so, what are some really fun, upbeat dance songs on your list (like Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love” or Outkast’s “Shake it like a polaroid picture”… or however the title goes — those are on mine because they make me shake my bootie).
We’re also doing a “Do not play” list — the chicken dance is on there. Again, sorry if someone out there likes it, but it isn’t for us! Et tu?
Is anyone else here suddenly thinking about Rocky 4? No, just me? Well, it’s the final countdown leading up to my wedding and I feel like a boxer in training. I’ve been running all over the City like a crazy person picking up last minute items, cutting my hair, dyeing my shoes, printing my programs, and the list continues. I’ve tried to prepare as best as possible for these final weeks, but it is inevitable that there is a lot to do. I am surving so far (woo-hoo!), but my blogging is suffering. Sorry, ladies! I just wanted to share with you all that as things get increasingly more stressful, the one person that is helping me get through everything is Mr. Lily. Aw, I know. I am so happy to be marrying him. He is the best! Thank you, Mr. Lily!
One of my first posts on Weddingbee (my third to be exact) was about how I booked my photographer, Sergio, before I had the wedding date set. It sounds completely loco, and is sooooo not my typical type A personality, but let me tell you when you see his pictures you will know why! His work is just stunning. They capture so much emotion and bring out the best in everyone. Before I give you more details, aren’t these photos breathtaking!?:

I have to dye my shoes for the wedding and the clock is ticking. The lovely heels below are my final choice (CynthiaRowley, Tia), but their current snow-like hue just won’t do! They should be ivory and ivory they will become… if only I knew of a good dye shop.

I looked on the Knot and saw a few recommendations from another bride. They are:
A party, for me? My work threw me a surprise wedding shower yesterday. I had a meeting in the morning that suddenly got switched to a different room. In retrospect, that should have tipped me off since my office loves surprise parties, but no! I walked into the conference room and there were 40 co-workers with huge grins. It was just too sweet. There were bagels, homemade scones, homemade crumble cake, danishes and my favorite Dunkin Donuts coffee. I shouldn’t be eating any of that crap with the wedding so close, but what the hell — the party was for ME! They even chipped in and bought me this beautiful Nambe tray:
So generous! I loved every minute of it. Man, I’m going to miss all of this attention when I stop being a bride. Just kidding… I actually turned three shades of purple when the surprise happened. Still, it’s nice to be surrounded by loved ones at work, home, and everywhere in between.
