On a slightly chilly October day, I woke up early, took my gown out of the closet, and slipped it on. I was a bit upset that the dress actually fit looser than it did on my wedding day!
Anyhooo, Mr. Orchid and I went into Manhattan to meet with our friends Katya & Arthur of Story Motion Studios. They also did my fantabulous Atlantic City shots. 
After a long day of romping around the city my my gown I’m sooo happy that I got some great shots! Here’s a small sample!
I picked up my photos from Something In Blue on Monday! I’ve been so busy I’m not even finished going through all 1500 of them yet! Here’s a little sample ’til this weekend’s update!

I took off from work early a couple weeks ago to make it to a Trash the Dress bash in Atlantic City. I drove 2 hours from NYC to meet the group there at 5:00pm, and I got there just in time. About 11 brides showed up where the famous Mark Eric and Jason Dominguez greeted us. We were taken up into a suite to get changed and ready for the shoot. It was lively to say the least in the suite, with all the girls running around getting ready, and doing hair and make up. There was also a camera crew there from Germany documenting the bash.

It’s countdown time for me - I have but one month ’til my wedding. Eek! So much to do so little time! My RSVPs had been coming en masse, but now it’s down to a slow trickle and I still have those that we are hounding down. To those that have written a little ditty, or a congrats, or blessings on our RSVPs, I thank you. But those that didn’t write anything… booo booooooo to you! 
When I pull the cards outta my mailbox and I see nothing written on it, I literally “booo” aloud.
I’ve been putting my RSVPs in a scrapbook that I will leave at the sign-in table for people to peruse through when they come in. Then they can see what they, and others wrote, and of course to those that didn’t write anything… feel like a loser for not writing anything! But I’m glad you’re attending! 
First off, get your mind out of the gutter. 
I’m talking about lip color/lipstick for my wedding day. My absolute most favorite lipcolor in the world is Orgasm, by NARS. Unfortunately it only comes in a lipgloss. I need something that’ll last. I don’t just want an orgasm that’ll last to my first drink, I want a long lasting one, damn it! *ahem*
What’s not to love about this color?? It has a sheer, warm, pinkish-coral tone with a touch of golden shimmer. I can’t believe NARS doesn’t make a long-wearing lip color in this. My hunt first brought me to Sephora. I think my hand had a bajillion different smudges of lip color on it and to my dismay, none even remotely came close to Orgasm. 
So I turned to MAC. They have a great selection of long-wearing lipcolor, and I was thrilled to find something that came close enough for government work, to the NARS Orgasm. However, I had to get a little creative. What I got was:

Just in time for late summer and fall weddings, the USPS has announced their “Wedding Hearts” series of Stamps. These babies will be available in Post Offices starting June 27, 2007. So RUN don’t walk to your nearest post office!
The Wedding Hearts stamps will be available in two denominations to cover both the one-ounce and the two-ounce mailing rates. Each one-ounce stamp is intended for use on the RSVP envelope often enclosed with a wedding invitation. Each two-ounce stamp will accommodate the heavier weight of a wedding invitation with enclosures. The stamps will be issued in booklet form containing 20 one-ounce and 20 two-ounce First-Class stamps.
They come in pink and purple.
As my 1st fitting date draws closer, I am nervous about losing enough weight in time. But I’m just waiting and counting the days until I can see her again. Here are some picture of when I went to try on my gown, as soon as it came in a few months ago. I love her…

Taking a good picture of my invitations has proven to be quite the challenge. First off, they are printed on this beautiful pearlescent paper that has this beautiful shimmer. However when you take a picture of it, that beautiful shimmer turns into an ugly over exposed glare. 
And on top of that, the crappy lighting in my apartment doesn’t help much either. But here they are folks! I tried my best. Without further ado, I present to you my invitations, that are printed in not one, not two, but THREE different languages! Haha…

What kind of entertainment will you be having at your wedding? Miss Emerald’s Post got me thinking about this. Because other than the traditional slideshow (which I have been procrastinating making), I am also considering having a few performances at my wedding.
From when I was about 8 years old up until college, I have been part of my temple’s music and dance troupe. As far as I can remember, Thai traditional dance has been a part of me growing up. Whether it was waking up early for practice, or staying up waaaay late for more practice before a big show. We performed everywhere: The Metropolitan Musesm of Art, Harvard, Rutgers, Concert Halls–even overseas. The list goes on and on. All of the money we made went to the temple, and to charities for children in Asia (mainly Thailand); but there were some proceeds that went elsewhere. Read more…

Any Foreigner fans? Hellooo?? Okay, maybe not. Do I sound a bit obsessive and corny? Okay, yeah maybe, but I’m just soooooooooooo excited!!~ The bridal shop called me this morning and my dress is in!!! I couldn’t stop thinking about it all morning!
My wedding isn’t until September, so my baby’s in hella early, but better early than later!~ I’m going to look on my calendar this week and schedule my 1st fitting in August (which seems like eons away at this point), but that would give me a good time frame.
I think the time frame for fittings is 4-6 weeks before the actual wedding date. But I don’t think I can wait that long. I want to see her like, NOW. Do you think the bridal shop will think I’m insane that I want to go in and see her? Maybe just sit in the dressing room with it, fondling and sniffing it to my heart’s content? Snarling at anyone that comes within 6 ft of her, while hunched in the corner petting and caressing it muttering, “..prrecciousssssss, I lovesss my preccciousssssss….”
Did I mention that I’m sooooo exicted! 
I think it was back in my high school days when Revlon was pushing advertisements with Cindy Crawford and Color Stay lipstick. At that time my color was Sienna, and when I look back at pictures I think, “Oh… my God, what was I thinking?!” My dark red lipstick color totally contrasted against my light skin, not to mention my lovely navy Catholic school uniform. I looked like a Vamp-Tramp! Hahaha…
Did Revlon ColorStay work back then? Ehh… I’d say no. Well that ladies, was over a decade ago (am I dating myself too much by telling you that?) and since then I’ve graduated onto newer and better products. Products that I can wholeheartedly say “work!”
Undoubtedly I’ve been searching for a “longlasting lipcolor that won’t kiss off” for my big day. With the all the kissing pictures I will need to take that day, I wanted one that will not leave colored lipstick stains on my darling groom, and will not require me to keep applying and reapplying.

I absolutely love this book.
It’s savvy, stylish and well written, giving wonderful tips on how to save money and what to know before meeting with your vendors. The tone of this book is very light, making it fun and readable unlike your usual wedding how-to book drone. In each of the sections, the author not only goes through how to approach vendors to ensure that you don’t get ripped off, but also the alternative do-it-yourself methods as well.
I’ve had this book since we first got engaged, and I already have the pages all marked up with sticky flags everywhere. This book was definitely worth my $10. I already have some girlfriends that have dibs after I’m finished with it!
