While I’m waiting for pictures, thought I’d give you some trivia about my wedding! (sometime later, I’ll do some about myself in general)
1. I never got a hair trial
2. I never got a makeup trial
3. I forgot (sort of- got really busy and did not have time) to get a manicure/pedicure, not even an at-home kit. Felt okay about this, afterall who will look so closely at my fingers?? Yeahh, except my photog was like “I’d like to take pics of you and your husband’s hands with the wedding rings on.” DOH! I knew there was a reason why I wanted to make sure my nails were painted, even if it’s just clear. Yeah, I didn’t even do that. Oh wells.
4. During rehearsal, I got red flower pollen on my white dress. Better the day before than the day of, right?
5. The girls were running late so my BMs got dressed at the hair salon and I got dressed in less than 2 minutes in the church bathroom. (so much for the “getting ready” pictures. Haha)
Eeek, I can’t believe it- We’re married!! And back to reality. Mr. Peach and I are now back in NJ until our honeymoon in early May. It’s still a little hectic, but I wanted to check in with my weddingbee community. So for now, here are 3 teaser pictures for ya.

In a few hours Mr. Peach and I will be on a plane headed to Atlanta for our wedding. Many people have been asking me how I feel. My response: I dunno. I feel like it’s just been so crazy recently I haven’t had much time to think or let my feelings sink in. I think I’m excited and happy. At the same time I’m scared (not of marriage but of the actual wedding day- having to be in the center of attention) and also a bit sad. My mom just sent me this poem via email. She prefaced it by saying that this expresses exactly how she is feeling these days…
At My Daughter’s Side
by Linda Jo
Tomorrow was a lifetime away, now suddenly it’s here.
How did it happen so quickly? This wedding drawing near.
How can I act so happy? How can I act so gay?
When in such a very short time, I’ll give my daughter away.
I wish I could grasp a moment, and make the clock stand still
So I could let my heart catch up, but I know it never will.
All the worries of being a parent, all the battles won,
No one ever warned me about the day the job is done.
Yet, there is another side, where my heart is not as sad.
Against the advice of some weddingbee readers, I couldn’t resist a FREE facial and took the risk on Tuesday at Mario Badescu. Since it’s my first time ever getting a professional facial or even being at a spa, I have nothing to compare to… but overall I enjoyed my experience!
As soon as I met my aesthecian, Madonna, I immediately told her of my situation: how I’m a newbie at getting a facial, how my wedding is just a week and half away, how I’m allergic to mangos, etc. Her facial expression read, “Whoa, calm down lady!” Haha. Anyways so she tells me to put on the robe and make myself feel comfortable and she disappears. This is when I begin to panic.
Ummmm… am I supposed to take off my shirt/bra and put on the robe? Or just put the robe over all my clothes? After some internal debating, I decided to keep my clothes on since I’m just getting a facial, and the only other time I wear a robe like that is when I’m getting a haircut and I def keep my clothes on for that. Anyways, I still don’t know if that was the “right” thing to do, especially when she started to massage my upper breast area and back of shoulder a little bit- she pushed my top-thank goodness I was wearing a wide neck sweater- and bra straps down to the side to do this, and I was thinking it would have been much easier if I had nothing on underneath.

Man, who knew getting married would require so many different things to think about! And who knew I would be publicly blogging about such a topic?? Ahahaha. *embawassed*
As I mentioned before, we are having a cupake tree as our wedding cake. Upon talking to our reception director, it seems that we have to be careful because some people mistaken them as dessert and take them before the “cake cutting.” She suggested I make a sign and put it in a nice frame next to the cupcake tree to inform guests to wait.
I was thinking, maybe I can write up a cute 2 line poem. Oh, I dunno… something like…
You might be tempted to take…
but please wait ’till we cut the cake!
What do you think? too corny? haha. Anyone feeling creative and wanna suggest something else?

I recently received a gift certificate for a European facial at Mario Badescu. I am sooo excited because frankly, I’ve never gotten a professional facial before. The only thing is that I won’t be able to get it done until this Tuesday, which is 11 days before the wedding. Some people say your last facial should be at least two weeks before the wedding. And as I’m reading reviews on-line, I am torn. While some people claim facials here to be the best, some claim extractions caused their face to scar! Yikes!
Since college I’ve had on-and-off mild acne. But my skin was doing really well UNTIL recently (geez when it counts most!!)¢¢â€š¬¦ I think it’s the stress. So I really really want to do this before my wedding but is it worth the risk?? For those of you who are getting facials done, what’s the closest to the wedding date you are getting it done? Any good/bad experiences? Things to know before I go?
Hmmmmm. Yes, it’s less than 2 weeks away from my wedding and I am still working on the reception time-line. haha. If you’re having a bouquet toss, when are you having it and why did you decide that time? I’ve seen sample time-lines where it happens in the middle of the reception (they stop dancing for awhile to do it) OR before they open up the dance floor OR at the end before the couple leaves.
My Bouquet Toss song will be: Bootylicious by Destiny’s Child. ^_^ I decided that today. haha.
Oh and I hope nobody notices that I’ll be tossing a bridesmaid’s bouquet and not my bridal bouquet. I was too cheap to get a tossing bouquet but didn’t wanna give mine away…
Besides, one of my sisters wasn’t planning to drag her bouquet from Atlanta back to SF anyways.
OMG. I have about 2 weeks until the wedding. (Thus the decrease/lack of posts… I apologize.) Man, I never knew there was so much to do so close to the wedding! I’m the type of person who doesn’t procrastinate, is always on top of things… until I started wedding planning! Ahhhh!! >_<
Yeah and I am not dealing so hotly with the stress/tiredness. I have sores all along the bottom and top of my inner lip/gums. Yep. It’s really gross. I mean I get a sore or two once in awhile when I’m really tired/stressed, but even with all my crazy years at college/grad school (and I went to a pretty hardcore place), I have NEVER gotten sores like this. *blech*
Anyhoooo right now my one word of advice to all future brides would be: PLAN AHEAD!!
As I am nearing the final weeks, do you have any words of advice for me (and other brides who are reading this and are in the same boat)? For ex. how to best prep the skin for the next two weeks, attitude, packing, etc. etc. Eeeeekkkkk I cannot believe it’s so close.
On my commute I always listen to start 99.1. On the morning show, they always have a section called ¢¢â€š¬…”Johnny’s Incredibly Hard Question¢¢â€š¬? Today’s question went something like this:
Wedding planners say that the trend for finding non-traditional wedding venues will cause a high demand for this location in the near future. What do you think it is?
The answer:
The Zoo!
Mr. Peach and I were discussing the issue of losing some ¢¢â€š¬…”freedom¢¢â€š¬? when you get married. Do you think guys tend to lose more freedom than girls when they get married?Or do you think it’s more of a perceived loss? Ie, the loss is the same, but guys perceive it to be a greater loss OR in reality guys do lose more freedom- if that made any sense. Haha.
Curious as to what people say¢¢â€š¬¦ because what started off as a discussion between Mr. Peach and I, led into a fight! No worries - because we got our issues resolved, but nevertheless, I’m curious about your opinion on this subject matter. I know most of our readers are female, but if there are any male readers out there, your insight would be much appreciated as well!
Oooo I am sooo excited about my favors! Mr. Peach and I decided long ago that instead of having favors, we’ll be donating that money to a charity on behalf of our guests. Originally we were just going to have a small note card at each seat explaining this and thanking them for coming to the wedding. Then, I ran into this on the knot:

I thought- how creative!! I was thinking we coud use this and put something like “M and Y have become ONE as husband and wife. We welcome you to join us in supporting the one.org campaign.” or something cheesy like that! And people would have something to take home (the bracelet) Read more…
Look what my talented MOH put together. I’m torn between the floral Elegant Southern vs. fun Dirty South theme. Poll time! (Don’t mind the color differences, these will be changed)
Whatever design I don’t use, I’ll prob use for favor tags (will blog about this soon!):
Table cards:

How lovely is your frosting~ Lalala~ I have finally decided to go with a cupcake tree instead of a wedding cake. I really wanted to do these super-yummo-best-anythingcloseto-muffins-cupcakes-in-the-world peach muffins especially offered by Folks Southern Kitchen Restaurant (I called and they offered to cater them for the wedding), but in the end I decided against them because the cupcake tree would look to plain. (You just can’t add frosting to those muffins!)
So yeah, I will be getting cupcakes from Publix bakery- a *GASP* super market. ^_^ They offer cupcakes at an AMAZING price! So far my favorite inspiration has come from an Austrailian company called A Piece of Cake. Granted, Publix probably can’t duplicate the quality of those cupcakes, but at least I have something to work with.
This one’s my fav:
This past weekend, my lovely ladies gathered in nyc for my back to back bridal shower and bachelorette party. I loved the decor, the food, the gifts, but most of all, I LOVED having my closest girlfriends from different parts of my life all together to celebrate with me! I’ll let the pictures do the talking
Look at the beautiful decorations done by my artistic MOH.
