I can actually start to picture my wedding day now that I see the bridesmaids in their gowns… 2 more weeks!
(these two are the ones that need the most alterations - the ones who happen to be like negative size 5’s (the dresses they ordered came in size 0 but were still too large).
Just for reference again, these dresses are Saeyoung Vu style Marysol - long in the chestnut brown dupioni silk.
front with sash - we will be doing a single loop and it will only be 1/2 as thick as this one

These are just too cute - I just had to share! My sister already finished them a while ago - she just didn’t let me know. Bridezilla moment has passed.

I don’t know who I thought I was or how much I thought I could do myself, but I was crazy. I rented an aisle runner from Mosaic Linens. Another check on my list! Woo-hoo!
Isn’t it perfect? It’s light blue with chocolate brown on the sides.

I’ve been waiting to post these because I really didn’t want to steal Mrs. Apple’s thunder, but now that she’s posted some of her wedding pictures, I think it might be safe.
The Apples (that is too cute) had three different types of centerpieces:

This was made entirely by hand (bent and soldered metal wires together) and then spray-painted yellow. The door to the cage is fully functional and can be opened or closed.
This would’ve made a really cool wedding favor, but then he would’ve had to make at least 100. I have no idea how long this one took, but he is so talented - he can make bicycles, motorcycles, pretty much anything you can think up.

My sister used a free seating chart program on the internet - SmartDraw. It’s really cool - easy to use and makes it easier to visualize exactly where everyone will be sitting rather than just listing their names under a number.
Thanks, Sis!

My second florist backed out at the last minute - she somehow “forgot” that she already booked another wedding the weekend of mine, so she will not be able to fly out (she’s in San Jose). She is a friend of the family, hence the whole flying out part. So now, my aunt (my main floral designer) will be going it alone–and from experience, it takes a LOT more than one person who knows what she’s doing to get an event set up in time. AHHHH!
My custom table linens from BBJ will not be ready in time, so now, my mother is going to attempt to make them.
I need to start making the aisle runner.
I need to make the dinner menus.
Only 2 out of 5 of my bridesmaids has gotten fitted for her dress. They are being altered as we speak.

After a long 12 week-ish lead time (I can’t even remember - it’s been so long!), the bridesmaid dresses are finally here! Apparently, all Saeyoung Vu Couture dresses take that long - they were exactly on time.
I headed straight to the boutique, Bridal Collections by Stella, after I got off work. I called up one of my bridesmaids and best friends, T, to meet me at the boutique to try on her dress - she works across the street, so it was convenient for her.
The dresses were just beautiful - I absolutely love ANYTHING in dupioni silk. Here she is trying it on:
Designer: Saeyoung Vu Couture
Color: Chestnut Brown
Style: Marysol - long

After my bachelorette party on Saturday, I wanted to take my bridesmaids out to brunch to thank them for planning such a great outing, to thank them for being the best friends and also for wanting to be a part of my wedding. Sooo - I took them all out for sushi at Tokyo One (yum yum, perfect after a night of debauchery) and gave them a few bridesmaid gifts:

These literal flower baskets are a cute alternative to your run-of-the-mill plain basket wrapped up in satin for your little flowergirls. An easy DIY.
Materials needed:
-basket(s)
-silk flowers of choice
-hot glue
Directions:
1. snip off flower heads
2. start gluing the flower heads to the basket in desired shape/design
3. save the leaves from the silk flowers

6. easy peasy flower basket!

We started out with dinner and at Jasper’s (one of my favorite restaurants) at Legacy Towne Center, went back to the hotel for more drinking, then headed out to Karma (a club) to “get our dance on”. We stayed at the Hotel InterContinental in one of the executive suites on the top floor - it was literally across the street from the club, so we took a taxi to go out so we didn’t have to assign a designated driver.
We had a crazy large sampler plate of every appetizer the restaurant makes - Maytag Bleu cheese chips, Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes with Tomatillo-Serrano Salsa and Jicama-Tortilla Slaw, Crispy Calamari with Toasted Orange Soy and Cilantro, and some yummy shrimp thing in grits.
I had the Pan-Seared Copper River Salmon with Grilled Asparagus and Mascarpone Polenta - it was good, but they overcooked it IMO. All of the appetizers were yummy, but I didn’t really like the crab cakes.
I forgot to take a picture before I started eating

It was so much fun! Thank you soooo much to my bridesmaids, and especially my lovely MOH - my sister, for planning such a great weekend!
p.s. This is the dress that I’ve been talking about! Although you can’t really see much while I’m sitting down…

I received an email from a local catering company advertising their services for my wedding. The subject of the email was: “Asia Menu??” and then went on to discuss how they can “meet my needs and desires” by providing an asian cuisine.
Seriously?
Just because my name is foreign and/or asian, you assume that I want asian cuisine at my wedding? What if I want French food or plain ol’ American food? Oh, that’s right - I wouldn’t want those because I just happen to be of Asian descent.
