A long time ago, I wrote about my MOH, Jasmine. While the wedding fever cooled down for me shortly after our big day, I couldn’t help but catch it again when she got engaged too! We’ll be switching places (her: the beautiful bride, me: so honored to stand next to her) during August this year at a big hotel ceremony in Vegas, and Mr. Plumeria (who’s in the bridal party too!) and I couldn’t be more excited for her and her fiance. You know what that means… shower planning! Here are the invitations I made for her upcoming shower for a little simple crafty inspiration. 
My wedding bracelet was an early DIY project that I didn’t actually make specifically to wear on the big day. I just happened to have a bunch of leftover beads and decided to do something with them, and the resulting piece of jewelry was too sparkly to use for any sort of everyday occasion. It so happened that it ended up matching my dress perfectly, so I went ahead and used it…
… has flown by so quickly. Has it really been over a year since we got married?
Since then, my world has still contained more wedding than I could ever have imagined (can you imagine going to nine weddings in one year?!) and all of it has reminded me that there are some things from my own that I never really finished. Like our wedding album. And this blog.
I’ve decided that I’m gonna pull up my chair and prop up my keyboard and get it done. Well, at least the blog part… haha. 
So, here goes — a few last DIY posts, maybe a couple of final recaps — and then I’ll be able to walk into the sunset with this chapter of my life duly completed, looking forward to the next.

… but I loved my flowers nevertheless! They were exactly what I wanted. I had never seen a sample or anything, so they really took my breath away that day!

The stems were wrapped with thick cream satin ribbons, and then accented with twisted gold ribbons on top.

Hello hive! It’s been a while, hasn’t it?
I’ve been married for almost exactly three months now and it has been wonderful — newlywed life, while not as completely rosy-perfect as one might expect before being married, is nevertheless blissful. Since the wedding, we’ve just been settling down and getting used to the new swing of things… but I knew someday I’d come back to share more about that special day! So, here we go, beginning with the very start of the morning on May 12th, 2007…

The dress…
Okay, I know I never even finished telling you all about the second half of our actual honeymoon — there are just so many pictures of Disneyworld to get through, I haven’t even touched them! But I thought I’d post about our most recent trip together, just to prove that sometimes, a visit somewhere close to home can be just as exciting and meaningful as traveling far away.Our destination: beautiful San Luis Obispo and its surrounding cities, in California. This area is close to home both literally (about three-and-a-half hours’ drive away) and figuratively… Mr. Plumeria and I were both undergrads at Cal Poly University, SLO, and that’s where we first met and began dating. Needless to say, SLO is, and always will be, a special place for us to visit.
Most of the time, we were accustomed to crashing at friends’ places whenever we visited, but on our first trip to SLO since we were married, we decided to turn it into a minimoon. To the average person, SLO might seem pretty boring and uneventful, but it is surrounded by natural beauty and great places to go. For our brief stay, we chose to visit Pismo Beach, about ten minutes away. We used to walk the pier as a couple and sit on the beach on the weekends. A stroll away, downtown Pismo has a multitude of cute beach shops and places to eat, most notably the famous Splash Cafe, with super rich and fresh clam chowder bread bowls. The beach is absolutely gorgeous and a favorite hangout spot for college kids and families alike…
Hi everyone!
I gotta admit I haven’t been keeping up here as well as I’d thought I would — but that’s only ’cause I’ve been having so much fun hanging out with my new husband. It’s already been two months, and yet I feel like the wedding was only yesterday. I’ll have to share about our recent, second mini-honeymoon later this week after I upload all of my photos, but for now… here’s a little new something for all of you wanna-be scrapbookers who just don’t have the time (especially while planning your wedding

I wasn’t planning for my first entry back into the hive after a mini-hiatus to be such a heavy sort of one, but, in the hopes of helping someone out there… here’s the Plumeria budget. I’ve also tried to link to most of the vendors I used throughout this breakdown — but if you’re interested in more information on anything, feel free to email me!
City: Berkeley, CA
Budget: $35,000
# of Guests: 400+
Ceremony Site Fees: $1,475. Yes, the church was an expensive one to get married at, but it was beautiful, and once we saw the lighting and colors inside it there was no going anywhere else. (Email me for name and contact info.)
Reception Site Fees: $0
Caterer/Food/Drink (per person if available): $20K — about $50 a head for ~400 people at the DoubleTree Hotel, Berkeley Marina. We had the entire Islands ballroom for our reception.
Since we were heading to Disneyworld after Yosemite, our stay there was a relatively short one. Our third day at Yosemite was our last, but we made the best of it. On our way out of the park in the afternoon, we first went to Bridalveil Falls. We thought it most appropriate to take a picture in front of this one! The fall is so named because its water breaks apart as it plummets, turning the base of it into a wet, misty area.
The next day, after the luxury of the night before, we woke up early and headed down to the dining room for breakfast, having heard it was to die for. It was! Mr. Plumeria is excited…
A couple of days after the wedding found Mr. Plumeria and I headed happily three-and-a-half hours away towards Yosemite Valley, ready to enjoy the first half of our two-part honeymoon. Both of us had looked forward to this since we booked our room at the Ahwahnee, over a year beforehand (yes, this is necessary to guarantee a room, especially during the busy season).We arrived rather late, after running sundry errands beforehand and making a few detours along the way to take some photos of landmarks such as Yosemite Falls as we passed by…
