When it came to the planning process, I admit, I really stressed myself out and drove people around me crazy because I was so unorganized. Here are my wedding day imperfections:
1. In one of my close up detail pictures, there’s a shot of my nice pedicured foot in bronze sandals. That was not what I wore day of. I placed a special order for custom made 5″ heels on Shoes Usa. Their shoes are known for comfort despite having gravity defying heels. Days before the wedding, there was no UPS man with my wedding shoes, so I called the company and spoke to who I think was the owner. He said he would ship them out overnight (free of charge). I must’ve thank you’ed the man to death. The day before the wedding, still no shoes so I called and found out they were never shipped. At that point, I was freaking out. A guy there told me he was going to personally drop them off at the airport and have them shipped to Newark airport (35 minutes from where I live), but the plane would not arrive until 7 something the morning of my wedding day. Long story short, my custom made shoes ended up stuck in San Francisco. My friend James ran around the day of the wedding to find me shoes. I ended up in 6″ not 5″ inch white stripper heels day of, which actually turned out perfect with the length of my dress.

My earrings were purchased at a store called Managrove & NY located at the Garden State Plaza Mall in Paramus, NJ. They don’t have much on their website but I found tons of nice things at the store. If you are ever at the Garden State Mall in NJ, stop by and take a look and also, stop by the MAC counter at Nordstrom’s and say hi~!! I’m there most of the time.

My cake was provided by the Rockleigh Country Club. The bakery is called La Promenade and is located in Tenafly, NJ. It is called . I never had the time to go for a cake tasting before the wedding, but the cake turned out beautifully and tasted great.

My makeup artist was a close co-worker of mine, Evelyn Abanto. She did an amazing job. She has a private webpage on myspace. I’m currently trying to convert her to Xanga.

It’s been a little over a month since I got married, and I’m long overdue in my updates. I apologize. I know there are some itching to hear about my vendor reviews.
Rockleigh Country Club- What can’t I say about this venue? The place was absolutely and beyond perfect. The staff were very professional and attentive. Although I didn’t get to see for myself how the cocktail hour turned out, I got an enormous amount of feedback on how great in amount, quality and taste the food was. Mr. Snail and I actually got to enjoy a good 15 minutes of food and service that was brought up to our private bridal suite until the family called us for pictures. A+
Kim Jin Hong Studios- Our day would not have been complete without this man and his crew. They did both the photography and videography. I have yet to see the touched up professional pictures and wedding dvd, but from how our wedding posters and proofs came out, I know we’ll have beautiful pictures to cherish for a lifetime. We got back over a 1000+ pictures taken from the wedding. A+

I should’ve posted these pictures sooner but I had a lot to sort through, not to mention I couldn’t figure out for the longest time how to make the pictures smaller. DOH!
For those that don’t know me personally, one of the many nicknames I have is Frodo. Mainly because I am vertically challenged (5′2″).
Anyway I found a picture online that’s similar to my wedding band:

Two eternity bands in white gold with a total of 1 carats in diamonds all stacked together. It is thin enough to beautifully complement my delicate engagement ring. I wanted to go with platinum but the jeweler suggested I set it in white gold because platinum would’ve been too soft. What an honest jeweler! A great big thanks to my girl, Jenny and her “Korean” skills because she got us a great deal on the wedding bands.
I had to share this with you all! Tell me how adorable these are!!!!

I thought I’d give you all a tour of where my fiance and I have decided to live. A newly built 2 bedroom 2 full bath apartment of a 4-family condo somewhere in NJ.
“Welcome~!”

The kitchen where I’ll be cooking most of the time and where my fiance will be doing dishes most of the time. Hee Hee~!
My invitations are in. I’m getting the final guest list down. Shame on me for not getting it done sooner because I need to have everything done by this week. My RSVP date is October 31st. Not really much time.
I was planning on making labels, adding on cute customized stamps and sending out every invitation, but it seems as though my parents and my fiance’s side will be hand delivering the invitations. Other than my friends that are not in close vicinity, should I be hand delivering my invitations as well?
What is your take on hand delivered invitations?
A reader (kt) on weddingbee asked where I bought my makeup pouch/organizer. Although Mrs. Bee has answered her question, I thought I’d point out some great finds from Sephora.

Sephora Essential Double Decker Brush Bag - $28
“Attention makeup professionals and enthusiasts - this bag is an absolute must-have!
This incredible quad-fold brush bag contains 18 stacked brush slots with a protective flap (nine on the top row and nine on the bottom row), one opaque nylon zip compartment, and one clear plastic zip compartment with red Sephora signature lining, all held secure by an elastic loop and button closure. The durable finish easily wipes clean with a damp cloth.”
I feel I have remained pretty calm throughout my wedding planning process so far. I may have had my first bridezilla moment yesterday morning. I have mentioned in a previous post how I could not participate in picking out invitations couple due to my work schedule.
I waited about 2 and a half weeks for an email from the printing man. Nada. So, my mother and I stopped by 2 days ago. I wasn’t completely in “love” with the actual design though everyone (my mother, future MIL and fiance) said they picked out the invitation that screamed me. I can’t exactly pinpoint what I didn’t like really.
Actually, I guess I can.
2 days ago, I walked out of the print shop with changes in the name placement, font and invitation colors. As much as I wanted to look through the hundreds of invitations the place had and change the actual style, I left it so I wouldn’t offend the other 3.
I’m having second thoughts about the invitation all together. I talked to my mother yesterday morning, which of course led to frustration and an argument. (This is why I’ve tried to just go with the flow and not voice my 2 cents when it came to wedding anything.) Not only did I not sleep well the night before, but I was on the verge of tears. All over invitations. We called the print shop to see if the order has been put through because if not, I wanted to make some additional changes. It was a little too late. Everything was put through except for the actual invitation.
So tomorrow before I head into work, I’ll be stopping by again to see if I can make additions to the invitation, to look over fonts and colors again. The sheer ribbon that’s part of the invitation is going to be a freebie thanks to the printing guy. I’ve got to hand it to him - with me being indecisive and not completely thrilled with everything, he’s really doing everything to accommodate me, my feelings and trying to help my mom understand by telling her it’s the one important day of my life.
If all the weddingbees were to take a poll as to who would have the oddest-to-be last name, I would be the winner by FAR.
My soon-to-be last name is Ho. That’s right. H-O. My fiance’s Korean and it should’ve been spelled H-o-h, but the Immigration Department must’ve been feeling funny that day because they left off the last “h” on their documents.
Some of my co-workers seem to get a kick out of my soon-to-be new name, because my name is Jennifer. So I’ve been given a new nickname - J.Ho. It gets crazier. My Korean name is Hye Sun (Hye is pronounced like “heh”). When I get random phone calls with people trying to pronounce my Korean name I get “Hi” or “Hey.” Now try adding Ho to either one. *sigh* I’m going to have to go change my legal first name to Jennifer. I’d rather be called J. Ho than Hi Ho or Hey Ho. I mostly go by my American name anyways.
When my fiance and I were still in the pre-engagement stages and were talking of marriage, his last name was the one thing that got to me. I so badly wanted him to change his last name’s vowel to “u” or add the extra “h” to the end like it was originally supposed to be.
Now, it’s different. At a certain point, I began to realize how selfish I was being by making a fuss over how his last name was spelled, and how it was very possible that I was unintentionally insulting his family too. It doesn’t matter to me anymore. I’ve come to accept it and even laugh at the “Ho” jokes. I’m just happy to have the opportunity for us to grow old together.
I think for the most part, many of us envisioned ourselves walking down the aisle to that one infamous tune that goes *duuun dun duh da~~ duuun dun duh da~~* I know I did. I used to hold onto random objects (i.e. handful of Polly-O string cheese, spatula, etc.) and do the two step “princess” glide. But now when I think of walking down the aisle to the altar, I don’t want the typical Wedding March song. Does anybody else feel this way?
One of my best friends, Julia, made a cd compilation of possible wedding intros and exits. When my father walks me down the aisle, I was thinking of using Edelweiss (piano and violin). When I listen to this one version, I can totally picture my dad and I. And for my newly married exit, a jazzy, modern version of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony. It sounds happy and something that might come out in a Super Mario World video game.
Who knows? My parents might oppose my idea of the DJ playing these two selections, so maybe I’ll just use the piano version of Canon in D and the Wedding March. But I think my choices sound different and interesting, no? I haven’t been to a wedding in ages, so am I thinking an idea that’s already been out there for sometime now is totally new and cool?
