There are so many reasons to love the Lake Union Cafe. The price is reasonable, it’s elegant, and the food is out of this world. The main room has hand pounded copper ceilings and a cane pulley fan system that really adds to the art deco feel of the place. I love the fact that it has big comfy leather booths that you can just sink into. I’m so excited to be having our reception here!

If you’re looking for flip flops for your bridesmaid’s weary feet at the reception–now is the time to get them! Summer is certainly over and Old Navy is selling lots of pairs in cute colors for only $1.99! What a steal! I hope I won’t be the only one whipping out the bedazzler for these bad boys!

As of late, I’ve been on the hunt for cute and creative save the date ideas. I wanted something to set the tone for the wedding and just make people say “WOW.” I think I hit the mother load in http://www.dimpleart.com/.
For $32.99 you get your own personal caricature that beats any mall sketch. Just submit your photo(s) and any details you would like added to the picture. You also have the option as to how exaggerated you would like your photo to appear. I chose the most realistic option and can’t believe how much they look like us! They also have a fairly fast turnaround and will do as many revisions as needed till you are happy with the final product. I’m so happy with how mine turned out! I’m going to slap it on a postcard and call it a day!

I had this vision in my head to have chocolate chip cookies and milk in old fashioned glass bottles as my wedding favor. I thought it sounded so vintage and cute. However, the logistics of it all may make the idea but a dream. I ordered sample glass bottles online and they arrived last week. While they are very cute…I’m starting to second guess myself. Friends and family have voiced concerns that no one will take the milk and that it isn’t something that will keep well. My bubble is totally burst!

When I first got engaged, I couldn’t wait to begin the wedding planning process. For me, that meant asking my bridesmaids to be apart of the wedding. I wanted to ask them in a special way and agonized on how for days. This is what I eventually decided upon:
I get so giddy at the thought of registering. I really and truly do. I want my spatulas to match my mixing bowls. I want the sharpest knives. I want a mixer with all the attachments. I want a vacuum cleaner and a stainless steel trash can. I want a rolling pin and ice cream bowls. I want the spinning spice rack. I want it all. And I want it now. I’m the Veruca Salt of wedding registers. Here’s my wish list…thus far.

I fell in love with the idea of a mashed potato martini bar some time ago. I am happy to say that I’ve convinced my fiance to have one! :)He, like so many others before him, were confused at the concept. Many people think it’s a potato flavored martini. Negative. To me, a mashed martini bar is the holy grail of buffet food. You start out with a martini glass, you plop a dollop of mashed potatoes in, pile on the toppings and go to town. Imagine the possibilities. Yukon gold mashed potatoes. Garlic mashed potatoes. Topped with chives. Sour cream. Lobster? Caviar? Oh, yes.

I’m a weddingbee blogger!! I am combusting–to say the least. I love all that is wedding planning and weddingbee… I love you long time. I’m so glad that you decided to expand! Having said that, I am a Seattle bride and will do my best to represent!
