I had originally planned on placing my mini buttons on little place cards like Martha did, because well, Martha did.
The well-wish cards were one of my favorite wedding details. I had a hard time deciding how I was going to display them however. I debated between placing them in jars or hanging them from branches of a mini tree. In the end, laziness won out and I placed them in a little shabby chic cheese drawer. Totally random, I know.
Every bride loves their cake. Not me. I wanted to MAKE love to my cake. It was iridescent and pink and just plain lovely. Ginny McGavin did a fabulous job. She’s affordable and makes a fabulous tasting cake to boot! The only thing I would have changed would have been to put some soft pink flowers around the cake stand itself. And that was totally my bad. She asked if I would like flowers and I said no. Der. Oh well, still loved it! 
Seven different boxes. Pink boxes, brown boxes, cream boxes and clear boxes. Boxes with ribbon handles. With buttons. With birds. Green tea flavored cupcakes. Chocolate. Coconut. Vanilla. Lemon. I could go on and on!!

My dad had but one request when it came to the wedding–that I get married in the family church and in turn, use the pastor that comes with it. It’s a package deal. Our premarital counseling sessions left a bad taste in my mouth to say the least. Unfortunately, issues with the pastor extended to the wedding day.
Well, here are the boys on their best behavior. If you don’t remember, they have a history, for well….let me help refresh your memory.

In 1971, Georgia Gerber, a local sculptor, created the bronze piggy bank, Rachel, as a fundraiser for Pike’s Place Market. Since that time, Rachel has raised over $120,000. In 2001, Gerber created a mold for the first Pigs on Parade. Celebrating the Market’s centennial, the pigs decorate street corners throughout the city. 100 to be exact. We were lucky enough to have two near our hotel!
That’s mighty strong language, I know. But in this case, necessary. Like Mrs. Emerald, Mr. Strawberry and I recently tried to complete our registry. Easier said than done. I was very conscious not to register for too much “stuff” so as not to appear greedy. Well, guests griped that we didn’t have enough stuff. So, I added more. A lot that we actually didn’t need. Things like blankets, vases, picture frames and such. We received almost everything on our registry from Macy’s. Restoration Hardware–not so much. So a shopping we did go.
Got a few teaser pics from our photographer, Jan Domek. They are from our day after shoot. I really dig the first running picture. I did a lot of running and skirt twirling that day. Later that day we met up with Von Trapp family.

Downtown Seattle is a parking nightmare. We didn’t want to have to go to the trouble to find a spot, nor did we want to pay an arm and a leg in a parking garage. And we certainly didn’t want the wedding party to do so either. So we all hopped on a yellow school bus!
All I know is that the Strawberries are living it up in Europe! Thought I’d check in, let you know we’re still alive. After 4 days in Paris we took the overnight train to Rome where we will be for two more days? I have no clue…I seriously have no concept of time anymore. I feel like I’ve been gone for weeks. Venice is up next, followed by London. Which means more food, more wine, and more sights!

Hi there. Just awoke from a five hour nap and am trying to piece together the piece of my life. The whole day was surreal and looking at pictures that friends so graciously e-mailed this morning, I can’t believe that after of year of looking at pictures of other brides–that’s me in a veil! So weird. More to come…I just have to wake up out of this haze!!!
Dear lord I’m getting married on Saturday. I need your help. I had my hair trial yesterday and need some help deciding which do to do. Oh by the way, while I was getting my hair done, I got my car towed. $350 to get it out of the impound lot. Fortunately, I had my veil with me and I sobbed hysterically and got it reduced. Anyway. Should I go for the side sweep bangs or the poof in the middle? Sweep or Poof? Poof or Sweep?
