I was born and raised in a small East Texas town, but I'm no country girl! I'm obsessed with British accents, fantasy (including Harry Potter, of course), and classic rock. My fiance and I consider ourselves both music and beer snobs---but every once in a while we love to hear a crappy band and drink a cheap brew or two. We're planning an eco-friendly, casual, English garden affair for the end of summer, and we can't wait for it to get here!
Weddingbee is currently looking for unique bride blogger voices to join our blogging crew! We’ve got some mega-cute icons up for grabs in the Honeymoon generation, not to mention that Bighorn Sheep from the Endangered Species generation. (I can’t believe no one has grabbed it yet!)

If you’re a current personal wedding blogger and would love to have your wedding journey featured for the hive, check out our application guidelines to apply to become our next bee! We’re currently accepting applications from brides getting married through January 2014.

I’m excited to share with the hive the FIFTH annual Bee Ornament Exchange! For those new to the hive, each year the blogger bees get together and participate in a secret Santa ornament exchange. Each bee has the challenge of coming up with a handmade or store-bought ornament for $15 or less, and the ornaments resemble or represent the bee’s moniker that they’ve drawn. Check out some of the adorable ornaments the bees came up with this year. This is only part one of four, so get excited for more holiday goodness!

Well hey there, hive! How’s it going? You might see me around here behind the scenes occasionally, but I haven’t written a “real” Weddingbee post in quite a while. But believe me, I am always around, reading the blog and the boards, and checking out your amazing photos in the gallery, DIY, and bio sections. Oh, and I’m heading up our Facebook page, so you can pretty much always find me there too. Does that make me sound like a creepy stalker?
Anyway, I thought today was as good a day as any to write a new blog post, seeing as how it’s mine and the Dude’s three-year wedding anniversary!
I seriously cannot believe we’ve been married for three years. It’s been pretty blissful so far, but I have a feeling all of that is about to change, as we get ready to welcome a new addition to our family, and I am NOT talking about a cat this time!

Heya, hive! We’ve got an exciting new series for you guys that we’re launching today called Pop Quiz! In it, blogger bees will ask a series of questions based around a single topic related to wedding planning, relationships, or engagement. Are you ready for this?! It’s pop quiz time!
I’m gonna get us warmed up with a “wedding basics” quiz. Answer the following questions to see where you stand compared to other bees currently planning their weddings!

We loved all your love jam suggestions that were submitted to help Scratch Weddings build our very own Weddingbee Valentine’s Day love mix! Two of their amazing DJs, DJ Drew Izm and DJ Will Buck, mixed their favorite picks from your suggestions, and now the mixes are in a head-to-head battle for OUR favorite V-Day mix.
Check out both mixes at Scratch Weddings, and see if your suggestions were added to the mix! They’re both pretty perfect for date night with your sweetie tonight…I have both running on repeat!
A big thanks to Scratch Weddings for this sweet collaboration…we love having TWO awesome Weddingbee mixes to share with our sweeties this Valentine’s Day.
Which mix will you have playing tonight for Valentine’s Day?

I’m so excited about this whole randomizer thing. Thanks, Mrs. Avocado, for such a fun prompt! Any excuse to revisit my wedding day through photos by The Nichols.
I used a random number generator to pick ten wedding photos, and these are the ones I got.
This first photo was taken sometime during our toasts. I remember feeling uncomfortable this whole time because 1.) We were up on a stage in front of all of our guests, which I had no idea was how we were going to do it, and 2.) I had to pee the whole time. I actually didn’t talk at all; public speaking complete petrifies me, and I did not want to feel that way on my wedding day, dammit!
I feel like this next one is quintessentially “our wedding.” It rained the whole damn day, and I just loved the way the impromptu umbrella shots turned out. They weren’t even posed; we were just kind of walking around after the ceremony, if I’m remembering correctly. See how the Dude has his arm around my waist and is kind of guiding me so I don’t slip? Normally, that type of behavior would NOT be tolerated on my part, haha. (I can do it myseeeelf!) But, what can I say—maybe I was feeling slightly more romantic than usual?

This past Saturday, the Austin and San Antonio bees got together for the first time, meeting halfway in historic Gruene, Texas.
Mrs. Beagle, Miss Petit Four, Mrs. Sand Dollar, Mrs. Waffle, haelmai, Mrs. Mouse
We had lunch at the super-cute Gruene River Grill and talked about everything from wedding planning to work to GLEE!
It was great seeing/meeting all of you ladies! Can’t wait for the next meetup.
It was also great to meet one of Mrs. Sand Dollar’s friends/bridesmaids, who was kind enough to take these photos. Hopefully we’ll see more of you around Weddingbee now!

I’m pretty excited to share this wedding with you guys. I was in the interesting position of attending a wedding with my friend—you may remember her from my wedding recaps as MOH Deniz—who was visiting from New York to go to this wedding. I tagged along as her plus-one, even though I didn’t really know anyone there. It was the perfect wedding to crash, as the vibe was so relaxed and welcoming that I didn’t feel too out of place. And I got the chance to really observe instead of really participating—good for journalistic reasons, I suppose!
I love the fact that the bride and groom did both their save the dates and invites by video.

Hello bees! Because it’s Friday and autumn is in the air (well, at least here in blazing-hot Texas it’s finally in the eighties/nineties), I found myself playing around on Pinterest. And why not share with you some of my favorite wedding-related pins of the day?
