I just got back from a Modern Bride charity event called Project Bridesmaids — a collaboration between Modern Bride Magazine and Planet Hope to collect gently worn dresses for underprivileged girls to wear to prom across the US. They’re going to be collecting dresses from noon to 5pm tomorrow at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan (311 W. 34th Street & 8th Avenue). Anyone who donates a dress…

I posted Part 6 of The Story of Mr. and Mrs. Bee over on PRO last night.
According to the American Kennel Club, these are the top 13 most popular dog breeds in America. I’ve listed 13 since we’ll only select either the lab or the golden, and shih tzus and miniature schnauzers didn’t really come up as suggestions from you guys.
We often get questions about how we decide on new Weddingbee generations, so I thought I’d go into how it all started.
We first started with the insect generation since I’m a bee. When we started to think about future generations, we tried to keep these general rules in mind:
I’ve been a fan of Weddingbee PROS Still Motion since Mrs. Emerald first posted about them 2 years ago. And after I saw the stunning trash the dress session they did with Mrs. Milkshake, I was convinced that I absolutely needed to do a TTD session with them.
Guess what?! We just set a tentative date in mid May! Woohoo!
There is so much I need to…

I promised my classmates that I’d write a post about the flower arranging class we took last night, but I just got back from a bridal shower and am too pooped to edit the pictures. I already uploaded the pics for the following post though, so here goes!
Mrs. Caramel used to do freelance hair and makeup in LA with her cousin, so her cousin…

On one particular day this past week, I received two emails from readers asking why we don’t have any African American Bees. That same day, I received another email asking why there were so many Asian and Caucasian bloggers on Weddingbee. We get a lot of emails from readers requesting that we feature bloggers of a certain ethnicity, geographic region, budget, religion or gender. We…

Mr. Bee and I made a New Year’s Resolution to go on a vacation every 3 months, even if it’s just a day trip. While Mr. Bee doesn’t really need vacations (he’s a machine), they’re an essential part of my life. Whenever I come back from a vacation, I always feel inspired and have tons of new blog ideas. Sometimes you just need a change…

I’d been helping my parents out for 3 1/2 years when I first met Mr. Bee. It was one of the most stressful and depressed times of my life. My parents own a couple of private postsecondary schools, and I had been running one of them. But after September 11th, all their schools were in crisis. Public programs our vocational school…

It was now April and we’d been together 5 months. Mr. Bee’s parents were coming to visit for a week from the Philippines. I had already booked a flight to New York before they decided to come and was scheduled to arrive the day after they left, but I changed my flight so that I could meet them. Dinner went off without…

Up until this point, everything was going perfectly and seemed like a dream. But it was now time to MEET THE PARENTS (dun, dun, dun - cue dramatic music).
My parents are both traditional and liberal (well for Korean parents). My dad speaks accentless English (rare for an immigrant Asian parent), has a masters degree in English, and is an English teacher so he’s…

I had my hair and makeup done by Ai Sakai for a recent event (Ai also did Mrs. Snow Pea’s wedding hair and makeup). This is a horrible self-portrait taken in my bathroom after a very long day, but you get the picture. Ai is so sweet, and she was such a pleasure to work with! She started out as a hair stylist, so I especially loved…
